We have stayed at Hotel Artos for getting on for 20 times over the past 18 years and we have never been disappointed. A great family atmosphere with all ages and abilities eating and chatting together. The staff are great and are always on hand to help with any queries and issues. The breakfast and evening meals (we always have half board) are delicious - and Swiss! English is not a problem and understood by all. On top of all this the location could not be bettered with Interlaken providing the gateway to magnificent views and trips across the length and breadth of the Bernese Oberland. The Bernese Oberland pass is highly recommended and tremendous value for money. Already booked again for next year - any better recommendation?!

“A hotel that checks all the boxes”

The location is very convenient as it’s only a small walk from the interlaken ost. The rooms are spacious and they serve a buffet style delicious breakfast to fuel your day. The location is very convenient as it’s only a small walk from the interlaken ost. The rooms are spacious and they serve a buffet style delicious breakfast to fuel your day. But the real showstopper is the jaw-dropping views of the Swiss Alps right outside your window. Harder Kulm is within walking distance. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.

“Eat elsewhere, stay for the spa”

The bad: Booked this because of the washing machine, which isn’t well maintained (and quite icky) and the dryer function didn’t work so had to use my hair dryer to dry the clothes for like 4hrs. most of the clothes came back smelling funny so had to wear the same pair of pants for my entire stay. The bad: Booked this because of the washing machine, which isn’t well maintained (and quite icky) and the dryer function didn’t work so had to use my hair dryer to dry the clothes for like 4hrs. most of the clothes came back smelling funny so had to wear the same pair of pants for my entire stay. Food is also not their specialty- had the lunch menu and it was some terrible fish dish that managed to be both too salty and tasteless. The good: Great spa facilities- wet and dry sauna, infrared light, plunge pools and shower facilities were topnotch. If you’re religious they have a chapel. They have a nice bistro area with a microwave and a library with hot water and instant coffee. The room was also fantastic! Breakfast is passable, I have come to lower my standards and not expect much from Swiss hotels (as compared to what you would typically get in Asia). A bit of a walk if you’re pulling large luggage over slippery pavement, had to take a taxi from Interlaken Ost which cost CHF27 each way. Overall, the spa made our stay quite enjoyable despite the initial disappointment. It was that good.

Visited Hotel Artos with my family (spouse and 2 boys) from INDIA in May 2024. I was here for 3 nights. The place in around 1 km from Interlaken OST station and bus is available at every 30 min. There is bus stop just outside the Hotel. If required you can walk also to/from OST it is just 8-9 min… more

Visited Hotel Artos with my family (spouse and 2 boys) from INDIA in May 2024. I was here for 3 nights. The place in around 1 km from Interlaken OST station and bus is available at every 30 min. There is bus stop just outside the Hotel. If required you can walk also to/from OST it is just 8-9 min beautiful stroll. Though was not aware, the Hotel is shared with old age home and the seniors share the Hotel and restaurant. The rooms were spacious and having balcony. The hotel is having all modern stuff like automatic opening and closing of all the doors etc. I think this is because of Seniors. Though Old age people are sharing the facility but it is absolutely non-interfering but because of this, the environment of the Hotel is less lively. There is no separate restaurant for Coffee for even a drink. I expected some liveliness in the Hotel. The place is very close to city center (800 mt). There is direct exit from back side of hotel to City center. Waking besides the old castle, Clock tower and a beautiful cemetery reminds scenes from a second world war movie. The breakfast is good but remains same everyday as there is no cooked dishes served. All in all good place but with some caveats. Choose wisely.
