Since a couple of years, I’m a regular guest at Hotel Bellavista. This year I was curious about what might have changed under the new Hotel Director Patrick Pennisi. Of course I kept updated about the renovations, by the Bellavista Newsletter and looking at the website. But how would it be in real? My first impression at my arrival was – wow, the reception area looks fresh and modern. Nice and comfy sitting places, warm colors at the walls, modern lighting. Yes, I looked at the toilets as well. You know what? I checked every toilet cube - the small wash basins were working, soap dispenser fixed, and cotton towels nicely rolled on small boards mounted at the wall. Guys - WOW again. Same, same at the 3 wash basins also small, rolled cotton towels, soap dispenser….. A glimpse into to the Fitness room only known by naming it on the website – wow again. Something went on here – in a very positive way! When I came into my booked room my first look went to the small table with a personal greeting card written by the Hotel director and his team, as well as some goodies. Gone are the old booklets with the Hotel information – new are business card sized QR code scannable information Because of the renovations, there’s not only renovation, but there’s also lots of modernization going on. The tables on the terrasse are gone – new are wonderful Cabanas which offering roll up/down sun protection all around. Soft sunbed mattresses and cushions, YES! Down at the Swimming pool the lounge chairs, with rolled towels are placed on those. The lounge chairs with a view on the Lago Maggiore, the Maggia Delta, Ascona, Locarno…… The restaurant is also renovated – the walls are in soft creamy colors, light curtains at the windows and modern lighting and modern paintings at the walls. I love the Barca, an original size small wooden boat in the middle of the restaurant. For Dinner the Barca offers a good choice of Italian and Ticino Antipasti – just like a fine dinning starter should be. Besides the Antipasti there’s still a fresh salad Buffett with different salads, vegetables, a choice of salad dressings, and so on. New on the menu cards are the daily Aperitive and wine recommendations. All in all, I loved my short break at the Hotel Bellavista and looking forward to being back next yar for more than a short break. I would like to thank Patrick Pennisi and his Team for the great work they did before they started into the season 2025. Don’t miss looking at the website and of course – don’t miss to book a stay 😊

“Hotel Bellavista for peace and quiet”

We are going to the Hotel Bellavista for more than 20 years and think it is such a lovely place to go. The rooms are well appointed with balconies and a fabulous view in a lovely garden. We are going to the Hotel Bellavista for more than 20 years and think it is such a lovely place to go. The rooms are well appointed with balconies and a fabulous view in a lovely garden. A pool is there too, with little places where you can sit and enjoy peace and quiet. The kitchen was wonderful and we had sometimes invited friends to come and eat with us. This, we would now not do anymore, the meal we got there was average at most, the service likewise. That is a pity. Breakfast is still lovely though - but, there is a fabulous restaurant down the road, so go there instead. But saying that, I will go there again next year, it is just too nice a place to miss. If you have someone to look after your dog while you 're away, it 's better, as the hotel charges more than the other places we have been to.

“Highly recommended”

You feel very welcomed at Hotel Bellavista. The staff is pretty friendly, attentive and service oriented. Always a smile, esp. the young Vincenzo does a tremendous job. Greetings to all, mille grazie. Super view on the lake, nice pool and garden options. Restaurant was great.

Lovely scenery, views across Lake Maggiore, however, little going on in the village of Vira. Hotel up a steep hill, on a busy road so unless an avid walker, you will need a car to see the best of the area.
