We had a wonderful stay at this 170-year-old hotel in Zermatt, and honestly cannot find anything to complain about. It's perfectly located within walking distance of the train station. The free pickup and drop-off from the train station was a lovely touch — no dragging suitcases through the streets! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely at home. Giai at the front desk was warm and attentive, while Alexe made breakfast the highlight of our mornings. The suites were impeccable, and the hotel's rich history added real character to the whole experience. A special mention for the thoughtful birthday card and slice of cake for my son — a small gesture that meant a lot. It was the kind of stay that makes you want to come back. Thank you to the whole team, especially Giai and Alex, for making our trip so memorable! We are definitely coming back :)

Hotel Monte Rosa exceeded every expectation and then some. We are a family of five — three adult children included — and everyone left raving. The rooms are generous and beautifully appointed, and we were graciously upgraded to a suite with a direct view of the Matterhorn. If you can, request room 601 — it is something else entirely. I have recently taken up oil painting, and I spent a magical morning at the balcony with my canvas capturing that iconic peak in the morning light. That view will stay with me long after the paints dry. The breakfast spread is abundant and beautifully presented, and the thoughtful touch of complimentary fruit, water, and espresso in the rooms set the tone for each day perfectly. After long hikes in the surrounding mountains, returning to a room with a deep jacuzzi tub felt like pure luxury — exactly what tired legs need. The hotel also has a spa, which I did not manage to get to this trip, but it is on my list for next time. The front desk staff were attentive, warm, and genuinely helpful with everything we needed throughout our stay. That kind of service makes the difference between a good hotel and a memorable one. Hotel Monte Rosa is a destination in its own right.

“The epitome of excellence.”

This is a first class hotel in every sense. It is central, warm and welcoming staff. Characterful and historically interesting. It exudes quality in a mix of old style charm and with excellent and friendly service. We’ve stayed here twice now and are looking forward to returning next June.

What an amazing hotel. Lovely hotel in a suburb location. All the staff were brilliant. The vegan breakfast offered was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. It was a privilege to spend a fleeting moment of time with the beautiful Krista and Rachael on reception. They made our stay feel special.
