I only stayed 2 nights but wished I could've stayed a week! Perfect location in Zermatt, barely a 2 minute walk from both rail & tram stations, and convenient to restaurants, shopping & the Coop market. Stayed on a second floor room overlooking the lawn & with a view of the mountains. There was one very bright "spotlight" shining right at our row of rooms at night, necessitating the heavier drapes. Room was large & well equipped with the most electrical outlets I've ever seen in a hotel room! Robes, hiking stick & a big cowbell was also available besides the usual refrigerator, coffee-maker, safe, etc. Multiple eating options available downstairs including a bar. Off the lobby were generous seating areas (lounges), even a pool table & reading room

“Excellent stay!”

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station. Every staff member we interacted with was AMAZINGLY friendly and went out of their way to help make our stay the best it could be. We highly recommend staying here.

We had a warm and friendly welcome and given early access to our room which we appreciated. We had booked a room with a view of the Matterhorn. Unfortunately there were a few issues due to building works next door to the hotel and across from our balcony. A crane more or less blocked our mountain view. The building works next door started at 7.45am (although we were promised they wouldn’t start till an hour later) till mid afternoon so sitting out on the balcony in the day wasn’t really an option due to noise. While all this is beyond the control of the hotel I think they should be clear on booking rooms affected that these works are ongoing. We liked our room. It was great quality with a few nice touches like a Dyson hairdryer. There was bottled water and a coffee machine. As others have mentioned the shower is over the bath and the bath side is high so access may be difficult for some. With the exception of one of the team (whose behaviour caused his colleague to apologise to us) we found the breakfast team helpful and there was a good choice from the buffet and cooked options. There is no air-conditioning in the bedrooms. We found some respite by closing the outdoor blinds during the day to keep the sun out. At night we opened the door to the balcony however there was noise from the street. It was unusually high temperatures while we were there. It would have been helpful for advice on blind closures etc on arrival just to help with sleep as it wasn’t till day 2 that I spotted the blinds. Location is excellent.

Zermatt made wonderful with a stay at the Schweizerhof. The hotel is located very near the train station and cog railway to the mountain top. Its local is also nicely situated near cafes and restaurants. The room quality was very nice with one exception. The bathtub is high sided and not easily… more

Zermatt made wonderful with a stay at the Schweizerhof. The hotel is located very near the train station and cog railway to the mountain top. Its local is also nicely situated near cafes and restaurants. The room quality was very nice with one exception. The bathtub is high sided and not easily entered for a shower. General staff service was above average but not excellent. The elevators are claustrophobic and breakfast was good.
