“Best vacations ever!”

Our opinion is related to a family trip for 2 weeks vacation to the paradise island of Zanzibar. Our opinion is related to a family trip for 2 weeks vacation to the paradise island of Zanzibar. Luckily, we spent this time in the best hotel on the island - Jambiani Villas :) Hotel consists of 3 properties about 300m from each other, with a restaurant in the middle one. First and most importantly, the hotel is very clean. Cleaning service is daily, they do their job thoroughly. Comparing to other hotels, Jambiani Villas have the cleanest pool, restaurant and rooms. Moreover, hotel service is professional, helpful and fiendly, manager constantly collects feedback from guests. We can sincerely recommend the private BBQ, which provides delicious food and an unique atmosphere. It was a wonderful, romantic end of a day :) In general, the restaurant will satisfy the most demanding customers, dish of the day + menu a la carte with local specialties. Breakfasts are served as a buffet - including the best guacamole I have ever eaten. Last but not least - the location of the facility is ideal. The hotel is located in the center of Jambiani and on the first line by the ocean. In summary, we spent the best vacation in our lives there and we truely recommend it to everyone!!!

Jambiani villas is a lovely hotel complex, in a fantastic location.The 2 bedroom villa was amazing, very spacious, well maintained, with views from the balcony across the beach and ocean were sensational. The staff are wonderful and did everything they could do to make our stay an enjoyable one. The two buffet nights were very good, with a wide selection of different dishes and was good value. The entertainment at hotel was top notch and very entertaining. Overall I would recommend this hotel. However there were some areas of improvement that did impact our stay that the hotel needs to address to be awarded full marks in this review. The process in how the hotel presents its bill to customers is a concern. On obtaining our bill I was astounded that rather it being in date order for each day, it was categorised by item. In my vast travelling experience and with reference to the other places we stayed at during our trip to Zanzibar, I am lost that any hotel would think that this is customer friendly and demonstrates good customer service. How on earth are customers going to be able to check a bill by remembering for example how many drinks of a certain type, across a number of days they have had during their stay at the hotel. Luckily for us, for every order we signed for, I took a photo of each receipt and had the exact amount in how much the bill should have been. On finding that the hotels bill did not match ours and the hotel struggling to find all of our receipts, we eventually cross reference the bill with receipts only to find there were drinks added to our bill that we simply had not had. The hotel has indicated that it will improve the controls of receipts but until the hotel provides a daily break down with receipts attached for customers to review, I would encourage customers to check their bills before payment. I am somewhat puzzled on why they don’t have a turn down service at night. They are selling the hotel as a luxurious experience, but expect their customers to turn down their beds, arrange the mosquito netting and spray the room with insect repellent.This was not the experience that we received at other locations during our stay in Zanzibar. The hotel has informed us that it’s evaluating this. I understand that breakfast is a busy time for the hotel, however on a few occasions waiting for the egg order to reach us was considerable long,the longest being 45 minutes. Also it was too often that breakfast items would run out, it really is important that your guests are able to get the same choice as those who arrive first and those arrived last. The towels have a lot to be desired, both the beach towels and room towels are very thin and have seen better days and they really do need replacing. The hotel indicated they were waiting an outstanding order, however towels have been raised before.
