From the airport it took an hour's drive through a pitch-black landscape, where the night guard, after a little honking by our driver, opened the gates, we were shown to our bungalow which was larger than we had expected. Large, nice and good AC that was easy to regulate. Good storage space and good with hooks and electrical outlets. Woke up to new sounds and to friendly people who kindly walked past and greeted us, swept the walkways from the hibiscus flowers that had fallen during the night and slowly with a cup of coffee on the veranda we begin to realize that we are finally here! Breakfast is served outside your bungalow while the manager instructs us on what to do to get the most out of our stay. The hotel is super cozy and genuine. You don't want to tip the staff directly. But when you check out, you're welcome to give $5 a day in a box at the reception. It's shared by ALL staff. Even those we don't see. The owner of the hotel is from Zanzibar, lives at the hotel and employs his staff year-round. Agnes has done that, who has worked here for 12 years. She took one look at my red shoulders, picked up an aloe leaf, split it in half and rubbed it in with a little admonition. The staff are the hotel's most valuable asset and I will remember Mariam and Agnes very much. ❤️ I can also highly recommend the hotel's own Dhow boat on a two-hour trip along the coast. It was just us and the staff. It cost $20 and included sun-ripened fruit. The massage at the hotel will never be forgotten by me or my muscles. It cost $30. We tried both lunch and dinner at the hotel, which were absolutely excellent. If you get tired and want something new, there are a lot of other options, both along the beach in the small village. Fresh pool and wonderful beach directly adjacent to the hotel. But the great thing is that the whole experience is wrapped in a fantastic feeling that we have been part of a piece of paradise.

“An excellent luxury resort by the ocean.”

Amazing stay, had a great welcoming where the manager showed us all the facilities, that were very clean. Breakfast was served on the porch with the staff being highly tentative. The manager was very accommodating and help us book trip and made the stay excellent.

We had a wonderful stay here. The staff was very friendly. Especially Agnes. What an energy. Situated close to the beach they had their own dhow. We took a trip with it to Mnemba and saw many dolphins and we did some nice snorkeling. It’s no guarantee to see the dolphins because we recommended the trip to other guests and they had bad luck with the dolphins only in deeper water. Hakuna Matata.
