“Good for a one night stay near border”

Location: Aranyaprather is the first/last Train station stop running all the way into Bangkok. It sits just 3 to 4 km from Poipet, which is the major land border crossing between Thailand and Cambodia. This hotel is an easy 10 minute walk from the train station. If you are crossing into Cambodia the next morning or catching an early train into Bangkok, the hotel is a very convenient choice. Facilities: Recently revovated, it feels quite new. Rooms are standard boxes with comfortable beds, flat screens, wifi, aircon and hot water. They are not particularly charming but feel new and clean. Price: 700 Baht (around $20 not bad) Ambience: The hotel felt eerily empty on the 3 times we stayed there with only two or three visible staff and few guests. That said, it feels quiet and safe. It has a restaurant (which never seems to be open) and public area both with a lot of "Vintage" American kit on display (old signage, coke machines etc.) F&B: Next door (not sure if related to hotel or not) is a large Club/Restaurant called Fusion with a similar Vintage American theme. The first time we visited they had an older Thai manager who was English fluent and happy to show us around. We enjoyed a very good (spicy) Isaan meal there and the menu was quite extensive. On our last visit, the place was empty with just a couple of young men staffing it and the menu had been reduced to three or four items.It is worth taking a look, as not a lot of eateries immediately nearby (there are 711s and some street stalls). If you stay on weekends there is a small local market behind the hotel. All in all a decent place to stay if you need to overnight in Aranyaprathet.

“Stopover before the Cambodian border”

Like most visitors this was a handy stop for the night before crossing the border into Cambodia. Perfectly adequate hotel. Like most visitors this was a handy stop for the night before crossing the border into Cambodia. Perfectly adequate hotel. My room’s ‘window’ gave me a glimpse of a corner of a pillow on the bed in the next room which was a bit disconcerting but no-one’s privacy was compromised! Bathroom was small but perfectly clean. Interesting collection of memorabilia in the public areas.

“Relic of a bygone era!”

Hotel is enormous & I think we & one other couple are all that are staying there! Room is basic for 900baht but at least the mattress is comfortable😁. Breakfast is standard farang fare - and is just ok! The coke & other memorabilia is the only saving grace; other than the hotel is near town!
