“Exceeded All Our Expectations – Fantastic Family Stay”

We’ve just spent seven nights at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel, one adult and two teenagers aged 13 and 16, and can happily say that it exceeded all our expectations. The location is excellent. Ratchaprarop Station is just a short walk away, and if you’re arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport, the direct Airport Rail Link is by far one of the fastest, cheapest and most convenient ways to reach the hotel. You can also tap in and out using a contactless Visa/debit card, so there’s no need to queue at the ticket machines. On arrival, you’re directed to the lifts which take you up to the 18th-floor reception for check-in. We did have a slight issue initially due to a misunderstanding over the room allocated for the three of us, but this was quickly resolved by the manager on duty. I only mention this because I think the way a hotel deals with a problem says a lot about the level of service and in this case it was handled calmly, professionally and with a genuine desire to make sure we were happy. Our room was on the 51st floor and was spacious enough that the three of us never felt on top of one another. It had a separate shower and bath, comfortable beds and clean linen, and the room itself was clean and modern. Housekeeping came daily, bins were emptied, bottled water was replenished and fresh towels were available whenever we needed them. Breakfast was included in our rate and definitely didn’t disappoint. The international buffet on the 82nd and 81st floors catered for everyone, with a huge selection of freshly prepared food each morning. Everything we tried was very good and, naturally, the incredible views across Bangkok make quite a backdrop while you’re having breakfast. We also made plenty of use of the Level 20 wellness facilities. The swimming pool and gym were both great to have, with fresh towels readily available. There are also self-service laundry facilities on this floor, which were incredibly useful during a seven-night stay. At 100 THB for a wash and dry, including detergent, we thought it was excellent value. There’s a small convenience store on Level 18 which is perfect for late-night snacks, a sneaky can of beer or any general bits you might need. Importantly, the prices were comparable with the 7-Eleven outside, so there was no feeling that you were paying inflated hotel prices simply for the convenience. There’s also a separate indoor/outdoor bar serving pizza and other international food, which was a really nice option when we fancied a break from the organised chaos that is Bangkok! Finally, the staff deserve a special mention. From the Roof Top Bar on the 83rd floor right down to the ground-floor lobby staff who greeted us every day as we left and returned, everyone we encountered was courteous, friendly and professional. With such an international clientele, I can imagine it isn’t always easy to manage everyone’s different expectations, but the team at the Baiyoke seem to have it down to an art form. If you’re considering staying here, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Any issues we encountered were dealt with quickly and professionally, the location is fantastic for the markets with loads of transport options for exploring other parts of Bangkok. Most importantly for me travelling alone with two teenagers, we felt completely safe and comfortable throughout our stay so many thanks to the staff again for all your efforts.
