The family and I were transiting through Bangkok on our way to Cambodia and needed a place to stay 3 nights. Centre Point Plus Silom proved to be a bull's eye choice. Obviously, the accommodation scene in Bangkok is extremely competitive, and you can easily get lodging that's 3-4 times cheaper and still works for you. This review is written from the perspective of someone who just won't stay at a hostel, no matter how cheap, so it may not give a fair benchmark to someone who's traveling on a budget. The room we chose for our family of four was nicely perched almost at the top of the 25-story building. These days it doesn't sound like much, but the location of the hotel allows a brilliant, unobstructed view of the river towards Asiatique, and also at least partial view towards the center. One major boon of the location is that it's right next to Sathorn pier, which lets you hop on a boat rather that lose hours in traffic. Also, the hotel sits atop a shopping mall, so if you, say, forget to pack a nail clipper, like I always do, you have all the shops you may need across from the lobby. The room itself, as well as the entire hotel, is neatly renovated, but you can't escape the impression it's just old. But it is so in a good way. Comfort is often defined by space in places like hallways and lounges, and there's certainly plenty of space in the common areas of Centre Point Plus. As for the room, we did expect it to be spacious, since it's advertised as 90m2. This count, however, evidently did not include the humongous balcony, which overlooks two sides of the building, and adds probably more than 50% to said floor area. As for the facilities and amenities, it probably comes down to which room type you go for. However, it's worth noting that at least some have a Nespresso machine, which is so hard to come by in Thailand otherwise. All is clean, comes in adequate supply, and is good quality. Furniture seems to show up right where it's needed, storage is ample, unlike in more modern properties which insist you can hang all your clothes on a steel bar by the door. We booked with breakfast. And a very nice breakfast it was. Although it could be argued that all across Southeast Asia, breakfast just tends to be overwhelmingly good, since it has to cater to the different tastes of people from very different geographies. And so, you get all sorts of hot dishes, noodle and rice based stir fries, dumplings, soup, etc. for those who come from not that far away. Then, for the European palate, there's a very good choice of egg dishes you can order, cold cuts, veggies, cereals, you name it. And then, for the sweet tooth, pastries and fruit are also there in a good variety. Finally, service. Again, probably not something that will stand out so much in this part of the world, where everyone is simply so nice, but still, those guys certainly know the difference between delivering service and offering hospitality. And the hospitality they offer, and the sense of being welcome is omnipresent. Good job, Centre Point Plus Silom. I actually hope I get a chance to stay longer next time.

My husband and I made this hotel our base for our travels around Thailand. As long as you return to stay with them they will hold luggage for you. Perfect if you are just taking a short trip and don’t want to carry all your luggage with you. This location is perfect. Two blocks from the Sathorn Central Ferry on the Chao Phraya River and the BTS train station. From here you can take the free ferry to Asiatique or across the river to IconSiam the huge mall with all the designer shops you could ask for. The hotel has an amazing breakfast so I suggest you book a room which includes it. There is a self serve laundry which is very convenient and as much free ice you could possibly want (next to laundry) The rooms are quite large with kitchenettes. The hotel is connected to the Central Mall which on the lower floor has a Tops supermarket. I have to say that the staff at this hotel are amazing! The employees in the restaurant, the concierge, bellman, housekeepers are all so kind and helpful. The front desk staff are wonderful.
