Yes, guests at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok have highlighted that: For this stay, we stayed in the Rachada Suite to celebrate a very special birthday. As soon as we arrived, we received a warm welcome from K.Bint (FOM) and K. Pearry (GRM). K. Bint came over to greet us and chatted with us in a very friendly and personal manner, while K. Pearry kindly walked us all the way to our room, showing us around the various features inside and engaging in attentive conversation. This left us deeply impressed from our very first step.
The Rachada Suite redefines the concept of a Thai house on a high rise building with a unique architectural design unlike any other in Bangkok. Luxury hotels featuring villas are usually standalone structures, which can only be found in a few places such as Anantara Siam, Grand Hyatt Erawan, or Capella Bkk all three of which we have stayed at before, including their Villa type accommodations.
However, the chic and unique highlight of Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit is its Thai Suite. This room category is not a separate villa like the others, but rather an Urban Sanctuary that delivers a resort like experience featuring a large wooden terrace, a lush private garden, and a Thai style roof that makes you feel as if you have stepped into another world right in the heart of Sukhumvit. While this type of design might be seen in several luxury resorts in the provinces, finding it in a luxury hotel in Bangkok is exceptionally rare.
The standout feature that makes the Thai Suite so prominent is its use of Biophilic Design, which seamlessly merges the outdoor space with the room, delivering a highly relaxing and private atmosphere markedly different from standard suites on high rise buildings.
Even though the room itself is located within the main building, giving the initial feeling of entering a normal high rise hotel room, the moment you step through the door, the hustle and bustle of the metropolis is replaced by an incredible quiet and calm. It is as if the wooden terrace, private garden, and Thai style roof have joined forces to create a Hidden Oasis that completely cuts off the outside world. It becomes a Resort in the Sky that offers both privacy and an aesthetic relaxation experience you might never expect to find in the center of Sukhumvit.
What truly sets this Thai Suite apart from suites with spacious terraces or balconies in other luxury hotels across Bangkok is its design concept rather than simply adding a large balcony, the architects chose to seamlessly integrate a Thai Pavilion into the building structure. As a result, the outdoor space becomes a relaxation area that feels just like a private villa on a high rise.
Standard suites with terraces or balconies in Bangkok are typically just concrete extensions projecting outward as open balconies. Even if covered by a roof, they usually serve merely as an extension of the building. But at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, the architect designed the Thai Pavilion structure complete with a Thai style roof, pillars, beams, and eaves to be fused into the facade. This transforms the outdoor area into more than just a terrace; it becomes a private Thai pavilion extending out from the building, all while maintaining the full convenience of staying inside the main structure.
This Facade integrated Thai Pavilion concept is not purely for aesthetic appeal. It also creates shade, reduces the sensation of being high up on a skyscraper, and offers an ambiance akin to actually staying under the eaves of a real Thai house. It effectively insulates you from the city chaos, despite being situated right in the core of Sukhumvit.
When compared to renowned villas such as those at Anantara Siam, or Capella Bkk which express privacy through standalone villas separated from the main building or situated in dedicated hotel areas the Thai Suite at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit interprets this by fusing the Thai Pavilion directly into the building facade. This allows guests to experience a private Thai house without having to detach from the hotel main structure.
What makes the Thai Suite different from suites with terraces in other luxury hotels isn't just its large terrace or covered roof, but because every element of the outdoor space is designed with complete Thai Pavilion characteristics from the Thai style roof structure, wooden deck, pillars, and beams, to the private garden. Upon stepping outside the room, you don't feel like you are standing on a hotel balcony instead, it provides the atmosphere of living in a private villa or traditional Thai house high up in the sky.
Through this design philosophy, the Thai Suite transcends the standard definition of a hotel suite, becoming a sanctuary that harmonizes Thai architecture, nature, and privacy. The result is a Resort in the Sky that delivers a unique, highly memorable stay a rare gem among luxury hotels in central Bangkok.
The property does not have an Executive Club Lounge, but instead compensates with Luxury Benefits for Evening Cocktails, which guests can choose to enjoy at either The Sala or The Living Room.
For our first round, we decided to kick things off at The Sala by the swimming pool. As for the service, I have to give it top marks for true ultra-luxury service that is detailed, refined, and genuinely beyond expectations. As soon as we arrived at the pool area, K. Folk immediately came over to introduce himself and extend a warm welcome, being incredibly sweet and taking the absolute best care of us. His presentation showed immense attention to detail. Regarding the canapes, K. MJ came over to do an orientation as well. As for the cocktails, I secretly wondered at first if they could compete with the Living Room side, but in short, they were delicious. There were about 10 cocktail recipes to choose from, and they could customize them for us too. K. Folk even crafted a special custom cocktail recipe for us to try. The balance was spot on not overly sweet or sour, crafted at the same high caliber as leading cocktail bars.
It was yet another proof of their standard of care. Furthermore, K. Pearry was so lovely, walking over to chat, greet, and take extra care of us in the pool area. Every detail and service at every single touchpoint here is meticulously Ultra Luxury and deeply thoughtful. It gave us the exact same feeling as staying at Capella Bangkok, Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, Dusit Thani Bangkok, The Ritz-Carlton, or Sindhorn Kempinski in Thailand.
At first glance, the lush free form pool set amidst the leafy tropical sanctuary gives off a distinct Bill Bensley vibe with its Balinese inspired resort design a true tropical oasis right in the heart of the city. It turns out that this incredible plant curation and tropical landscaping were originally crafted by Jirachai Rentong, the renowned horticulturist and partner of Bill Bensley Even after all these years, as the garden has matured so gracefully, his exceptional touch in selecting and arranging the dense, multi layered flora continues to transform the pool area into a serene, nature immersed paradise that delivers a timeless resort magic.
Since we hadn't visited in quite a while, the atmosphere during Evening Cocktails by the pool was so wonderful we almost didn't want to leave. But with 20 minutes remaining, we decided to head down to continue at The Living Room just as Evening Cocktails were wrapping up. When we arrived, we ordered Sparkling Wine, and the staff brought it out for us to taste first. Out of curiosity, I asked the staff directly: Do you normally provide a tasting like this here, even when it’s not a regular paid sale?
The answer we received reflected a truly exceptional Service Mind, as the staff member replied with a smile: We have 2 options available, sir, and we really want our guests to taste them so you can choose the one that truly fits your preference. Service at a level that provides a Wine Tasting during Executive Club Lounge hours or Happy Hours for non chargeable items is typically found only at Ultra Luxury hotels. Yet here, they attended to these small details in such an impressive way. Even after Evening Cocktails officially ended, when we ordered additional food and drinks, every single dish was still delicious and exceptional in flavor, accompanied by beautiful live jazz music that complemented the ambiance perfectly.
We returned to our room. Turndown Service and Premium Water Small details that reflect true luxury.
In the world of luxury hotels, Turndown Service is not just about making the room ready for sleep it is the crucial Final Touch that reflects the hotel genuine level of attention to detail.
One of the components I’ve always observed and valued is precisely how hotels present their Turndown Amenities during this evening period.
Overseas, it is a familiar sight at top 5 star chains to see luxury hotels using world renowned imported mineral water brands such as Acqua Panna, Evian,VOSS. These waters aren't just provided for hydration, but also to elevate the stay experience and seamlessly reinforce an image of understated elegance.
Looking back at Thailand, even though many hotels have advanced their service standards significantly, selecting premium water for Turndown service is still a rarity, and not everywhere pays attention to this detail. However, this hotel is one of the few places that does, and they do it impressively well.
In truth, choosing Premium Water during Turndown might not encapsulate the entirety of luxury by itself, but it is a clear detail demonstrating how dedicated and meticulous the hotel is with every single dimension of the guest experience.
As for sleep quality which is something we place the highest importance on, as good sleep directly restores one quality of life and forms a crucial part of the overall stay experience sleep quality here earns a full 100 out of 100. The mattress is pure heaven, unbelievably soul snatching, and every other element contributing to sleep is exceptional.
Notably, the hotel uses premium bedding sheets, as well as sumptuously soft bathrobes from Frette.
Important elements of the Sleep Experience that affect true rest are not just about having a soft bed or many pillows, but rather the overall sleep specific elements working seamlessly together such as the Mattress and Topper, Bedding Sheets and Duvet, Pillow Selection and Pillow Menu, Light Blocking Blackout Curtains, Ambient Scent and Aromatherapy, right down to the room temperature and ambient silence. Including the fine internal materials of the pillows and bedding themselves, these details collectively create a huge difference in delivering an unparalleled night rest.
Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Service standards that exceed expectations.
When looking at the overall service landscape of the Marriott network in Bangkok, for me, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit and The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok are the two properties that consistently deliver experiences Beyond Expectations. Yesterday at The Sala, the attention to detail was exceptional not just regarding the beverages, but in the core spirit of service that makes this place more special than anywhere else.
Executive and Bubbly Breakfast at Rossini’s: Starting the day at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit becomes an extraordinary experience with the Executive and Bubbly Breakfast at Rossini’s, which offers a dining service combining comfort with Fine Dining quality through an A la Carte Menu + Mini Buffet format.
The heart of this meal is the meticulously crafted A La Carte Menu, which features a rotation every 3 days across 3 variations, ensuring guests always encounter freshness and excitement. Among the highlights we ordered today
Seafood Selections Grilled Salmon and Grilled Red Snapper
Signature Dishes Japanese Bowl and Shrimp Wontons
Sweet Note Waffle
Fresh fruit juices, Sparkling Wine. They pay great attention to detail here, from selecting high quality ingredients to fine dining style presentation. Drinking water is Acqua Panna, and both juices and water are served in beautiful glassware that looks wonderfully luxurious.
Beyond the excellence of the A La Carte menu, the atmosphere inside Rossini’s is designed to elevate the breakfast experience.
Open Kitchen An open kitchen zone allows guests to observe the chefs meticulousness at every stage of cooking, reinforcing confidence in the quality and freshness of each dish.
The Mini Buffet section is creatively arranged, with service stations thoughtfully distributed in proportions. In particular, the station setup along the windows maintains a cohesive color palette and pays careful attention to vessel placement and raw ingredients, making you feel as though you are dining in a gallery where the beauty of food is the core focus.
They utilized the layout space for food displays efficiently and beautifully.
Additionally, there is high flexibility to customize food according to specific individual preferences, which truly represents luxury service.
Speed paired with refinement Another highlight reflecting Rossini’s superior service standard is Service Efficiency. Even with an A la Carte menu made fresh to order dish by dish, the kitchen team manages time with remarkable precision and impressive speed.
The atmosphere reflects timeless classic luxury an Old World Luxury vibe reminiscent of legendary hotel brands like Mandarin Oriental, The Peninsula, or Four Seasons, blended with warm, attentive service down to every detail.
The most impressive part of this meal was the service from K. Manop (Restaurant Leader), who took fantastic care of us. I was so impressed I have to give special praise; he even saved some mangosteens for us out of concern that they might run out I must also thank all the staff at Rossini’s for being so lovely and attentive.
Regarding Bathroom Amenities, where we place high importance on hygiene, the luxury lies right here another detail demonstrating Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit standard of care is their selection of Byredo bathroom products in dispenser bottles, managed with extreme care. Even though these are dispenser bottles that do not require tools to open (unlike some Byredo models), the hotel prioritizes hygiene by placing a security seal sticker between the bottle and the pump head to confirm that the product is in pristine condition and has not been opened, instilling high confidence in guests.
In terms of Quality Assurance, the hotel has a clear protocol when a bottle is empty, they replace the entire bottle with a brand new one rather than refilling the old container from bulk containers, thereby preserving the purity and standard of the product formula perfectly. A green sticker is attached under the bottle, acting as a Product Traceability Marker or code for inspection.
Staff record the production batch data linked to color codes to ensure every product brought out for service is well within its proper shelf life. This also allows the Housekeeping team to manage product rotation cycles accurately, preventing residue build up and guaranteeing that what every guest experiences is a fresh, high quality product.
Another impressive detail was the precision in describing room features the hotel chose to use the term Jetted Bathtub instead of Jacuzzi, which reflects great professionalism since Jacuzzi is merely a trademarked brand name. Many hotels call any whirlpool tub a Jacuzzi right away.
Ultra-fast service, flawless on every piece.
Another thing I have to give a thumbs-up to is the speed of service. Normally at most hotels, if you send clothes at 4:00 PM, you usually have to wait until the next day to receive them. But for the 3 shirts I sent for pressing, the hotel brought them back immediately on the very same day! On top of being fast, the pressing quality was crisp and absolutely perfect. Extremely impressed
Special Thanks
Thank you to K. Carl (General Manager) for the very special complimentary birthday drink provided for us.
And who definitely cannot be left out: I must give special praise to K. Kay (Pool Supervisor) for his professional drink mixing skills Along with K. Folk, who dedicatedly crafted a special signature cocktail recipe for us to try the flavor was perfectly balanced, smooth, refined, and exquisite. They both took care of us attentively, warmly, and friendly throughout both days.
In particular, K. Kay was incredibly sweet and went above and beyond 100%. On the day we were checking out and came down to use our Complimentary Drink privilege, Khun Kay immediately came over to look after us personally, showcasing his skills by mixing another special cocktail glass for us before our departure. From opening day until our exit, he made the poolside atmosphere truly special. I am deeply impressed by the care, dedication, and Service Mind of K. Kay.
And when it was time to check out, K. Bint (Front Office Manager) honored us by coming to bid farewell and see us off in person. It was the most complete and memorable conclusion to our stay.
Summary of impression and thanks to the team behind the scenes
This stay at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok was not only outstanding due to the masterpiece architecture and design of the Rachada Suite, but the true heart that made this journey exceed all expectations was the Service Spirit of every employee across every single touchpoint.
In addition to the Front Office, Pool, and The Living Room teams already mentioned, we must express our thanks to the Concierge team for their professional assistance with Valet Parking and for carefully loading our bags into the car.
Also, to the Housekeeping team for maintaining pristine cleanliness, preparing the room flawlessly in every detail throughout our stay, and especially for thoughtfully decorating the room for our birthday occasion it was such a sweet detail that brought immense delight. The stuffed animals the housekeepers arranged on our bed were so adorable we almost didn't want to move them off
Thank you to the management team and all staff members at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit for jointly delivering an Ultra Luxury stay experience filled with warmth, attention, and superior standards, making this stay one of our most cherished memories.
