“Wonderful hotel”

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and it was fabulous. The staff were very helpful and so lovely, our room was great. The hotel is about 45 minutes from the centre of Chiang Mai but there is a courtesy bus and the taxis are very cheap. It is near the hot springs and we had a great morning there. The pool didn't look too appealing so we didn't go in. Next door was a supermarket/bar and we had a great time socialising with the local people. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.

“Away, Comfy and Peaceful”

Doi Saket region, a place less travelled, has plenty to offer by car. But looking for a reasonably comfortable place to stay could be a challenge, as many are just the basics and may not match everyone’s idea of a relaxing stay. Away is after all reputable for her good chain of hotels in Thailand. That said, you can be assured it will meet your expectations of reasonable comfort. The room size is generous for sure, nothing of a disappointment. They had a small balcony but it was more catered for mosquitoes looking for prey. It was cool December season, so I did not get to indulge in the pool right down the center of the resort. But I bet it is great for hotter months. Imagine, coming back to the resort all exhausted and overheated, jump straight into the pool and order that cold beer. Retreat into relaxation. Immediate surroundings, nothing. Even looking for a restaurant will be a challenge unless you have a car. I have a car, but following Google Maps’ recommendations got me to a plot of barren land. So, it was back to the hotel to dine. I have to say the price was rather steep. I was comparing to what I could have paid if it was at local eats this region. But it was really generous in portion. Other than chilling out enjoying the ambiance by the pool in the night, I could have also enjoyed their hot sauna which was offered free to all hotel guest. The guest, a small number of van loads and mostly foreigners. No rowdy crowds while I was there, the night peaceful. Great selection of English channels on the flat screen TV. I slumbered well.

We live in Chiang Mai and wanted to go to the nearest hot springs so chose this resort to stay for a night. We were greeted by very friendly staff. In the evening we ordered room service, the food was fresh and delicious! Our room was spacious, unusually clean compared to other resorts and hotels we had stayed in, and nicely decorated. The breakfast buffet was great and had several vegan options which I was absolutely delighted about as it is quite a rare thing in Thailand. The resort looks amazing, tiny but very beautiful. Out of all cascaded pools only one was clean and appealing but we didn’t mind as we swim quite often in our condominium pool in Chiang Mai. As for other facilities, we didn’t have a chance to use any of them so I can’t say anything bad or good about them. As a weekend getaway from the city and to hot springs it’s a much better option than Pai Hotspring Spa Resort: it’s closer, the staff are friendlier and speak better English, the rooms are cleaner and more spacious, the restaurant food is more varied and delicious. I really liked this resort and hope they improve all the little and big downsides other travelers have written about and become the best resort in the area, they actually have such a potential.
