What Brought Us Here A Thai friend who has been living in Hua Hin long-term highly recommended the food and atmosphere here, so staying at The Standard and trying the restaurants was already on my list. I’m happy to say it exceeded expectations. The food was genuinely outstanding, especially the tuna larb and spicy shrimp salad. Chef Miew personally came over to ask detailed questions about what we liked and didn’t like, which made us feel truly cared for. The People Are the Reason We’ll Return If there were an option to give 1,000 points for service, I would. The biggest highlight of our stay was the team at Praça. If we return to The Standard, it will be because of them. Every single person made us feel welcome, and more importantly, made our dog feel welcome too. Our dog Simba absolutely adored the team and would happily walk over to visit them on his own. They even braided his fur one evening! Special thanks to Chita, Jill, Fah, Faii, Bomb, Mean, bartender Natt, and Tae, as well as everyone else whose names I may have missed. You made this trip incredibly meaningful for both me and Simba. I sincerely hope this review brings a smile to your faces because the happiness you created for us deserves recognition. Reception Team That Convinced Us to Stay Longer The reception team was wonderful as well. A special thank you to the pink-haired receptionist who patiently showed villa options to my very picky friend (sorry, friend!). Her help ultimately convinced us to extend our stay from two nights to three. A Truly Dog-Friendly Experience The Standard is already one of the most dog-friendly hotels I’ve experienced. The dog ice cream was a huge hit. Simba became obsessed with it and seemed to know exactly when we were heading to the café because it meant another ice cream day. The café team clearly loves dogs, and it shows. More importantly, our dog wasn’t just tolerated here—he was genuinely welcomed and loved. Food & Breakfast Highlights Breakfast was excellent. I especially loved the build-your-own noodle station. The minced pork and minced chicken were delicious, and the broth—both the clear soup and tom yum version—was among the best I’ve ever had. If I could make one suggestion, I would love to see shrimp rice porridge or pork rice porridge added to the breakfast menu. On the days when braised beef was served, I would have enjoyed it even more if the beef had been a little more tender. I also want to thank Chef Jaa and Chef Sebastian, who actively sought feedback about breakfast. It was refreshing to see a culinary team that genuinely values guest opinions and makes you feel heard. Afternoon Refreshments The complimentary refreshments around 3 PM were another highlight. The team kept everything replenished so generously that guests never felt awkward about helping themselves. It made us feel genuinely appreciated and became part of our daily routine. Suggestions for Improvement The team already does an amazing job caring for dogs, but a few additions would make the experience even better: * A dog wash or rinse station for cleaning off after the beach. * More leash tie-up points around the property. As the owner of a large dog, I sometimes worried about him accidentally bumping into furniture. * A fenced off-leash dog park would be absolutely fantastic. One Small Challenge The outdoor seating area can get quite hot during the day, and there were quite a few mosquitoes. That said, the staff responded immediately every time. The moment we mentioned the mosquitoes, someone appeared with repellent, and another team member brought over a fan. The service couldn’t have been better; it’s simply an environmental challenge. Final Thoughts Beautiful property, excellent food, and outstanding hospitality. What truly sets this hotel apart is its people. Every interaction felt genuine, warm, and thoughtful. Few places make both guests and their dogs feel this welcome. Thank you for creating such a memorable stay. We look forward to coming back.

“Staycation at The Standard Hua Hin”

There's a problem during the stay and it was very minor for me but the front desk staff I'm not sure about his name maybe Khun Pun if I'm not mistaken, is very nice and helpful to take responsibility for the problem. It was so grateful.
