By the time I arrived at High Season, I had already spent 11 nights across various five-star hotels in Thailand. I mention that only to give context for what followed. The experience began before I even landed in Thailand. The team helped me plan the entire journey from my hotel in Koh Chang all the way to their reception desk — and back out to Trat airport on departure. They offered a private speedboat transfer between the islands, which I took. It was expensive, but travelling across open water in close to 40°C heat made it absolutely worth it. They even emailed ahead to let me know people would be waiting at the dock. Small detail, big impact. The greeting on arrival was so genuinely warm that I found myself a little moved. After nearly two weeks of polished but impersonal five-star hospitality, it caught me off guard in the best possible way. I had half-forgotten what I'd booked, so the villa was a genuine surprise. Spacious, beautiful, with a private pool and a real sense of seclusion — not completely hidden from the world, but private enough that it felt like your own space. The beach setting was incredible: peaceful during the day, and then a natural gathering point in the evenings as people came to watch what were genuinely gorgeous sunsets. We were there over Songkran and joined the gala dinner, which was impressive. Breakfast was a real highlight too — lovely spread, beautiful fresh fruit, and all the staples done well. The staff were, across the board, wonderful. A note for pescatarian or vegetarian travellers: much of the food is cooked in fish, and if you have a crustacean allergy it requires careful navigation — though this reflects Thai cuisine broadly rather than anything specific to this hotel. There were a couple of order mix-ups that needed dishes sent back, likely a language barrier rather than anything more, and it didn't detract from the overall experience. So many staff members stood out that I can't name them all, but Peter on the beach made our evening meals a pleasure. The supervisor — I wish I'd caught his name — was exceptional: he sorted our Songkran gala seating with ease and was back on his feet early the next morning as if nothing had happened. After the contrast of our previous hotel, High Season felt like everything a resort should be. Warmly recommended.

We stayed at High Season Pool Villas in March as a family of four with our two children aged 1 and 3, and we had the most amazing time from start to finish. The resort is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for a relaxing family getaway, while still being convenient for exploring the island. The whole resort has such a calm and welcoming atmosphere, with a real sense of luxury without ever feeling overcrowded. Our villa was stunning, spacious, stylish, and ideal for travelling with young children. Every villa has its own private pool was a huge highlight and gave us so much flexibility as a family. Everything was spotless throughout our stay, from the villa itself to the grounds, and it was clear the cleanliness standards are extremely high. The resort was wonderfully quiet, providing a truly relaxing stay in paradise. The service was exceptional throughout our stay. Every member of staff was warm, friendly, and always happy to help, and they were especially lovely with our children which made the trip even more special. The amenities were fantastic and really added to the experience, making everything feel easy, comfortable, and luxurious. The staff are so attentive, they organised a private driver for us for the afternoon, we got a letter the night before we left to check on our plans and pick up for the next day. They made sure our boat and onward travel was all confirmed for us. The breakfast was beautiful every morning, serviced drinks to your table, your own juices and smoothies made whatever your request, eggs counter, chilled room with beautiful fruits, meats, cheeses. All enjoyed with a beautiful view of the pool and the sea. We also enjoyed all our lunches and dinners in the resort as the food was so delicious. Considering the quality of the accommodation, service, and overall experience, we felt it was excellent value for money. We made such special family memories here and would absolutely love to return. Our stay at High Season Pool Villa & Spa was something quite special. The setting is genuinely beautiful - spacious private villas, each with its own pool, set within an atmosphere of calm that feels like a true retreat. Evenings on the beach, barefoot in the soft white sand, watching the sunset, were a highlight of our time there. What really stayed with us, though, was the warmth of the people. The hospitality felt generous and natural rather than formal. During Songkran in particular, the water celebrations created a sense of ease and connection between staff and guests - for a while, it felt less like a hotel and more like a small community. A special thank you to Nutty, who was consistently attentive, kind, and thoughtful throughout our stay. It’s clear why she is so often mentioned - she made a real difference to the experience. A very special place, and one we’ll remember for a long time.
