This is a cute little hotel. I stayed in a double room and it was fairly spacious. There was a small balcony with not much of a view, however I think some balconies have a view of the street. Mae Sariang is fairly rural so this hotel is a good option. The air conditioning is excellent and can even be left on when you leave the room. Cleanliness is fair, considering its location, I did see a few bugs but it was rainy season in Thailand! Staff are all friendly. I do think that the twin rooms are slightly nicer than the doubles, but I had a lovely stay and would stay again if I returned to this area. The bed was firm but comfortable. There was a decent shower and plenty of bottled water was provided.

We arrived on our motorbikes in the afternoon and had not booked a room, so we walked around and found Mitaree on second road (back from river) There appears to be another Mitaree (2) but I'm sure we stayed at the Mitaree 1 There is a biggish car-park and at the back there are some chalets. They must have been booked up, as this was all that we were offered. The chalets where hot from the sun when we checked them, but the air-con does not need the room key to be slotted to run, so buy the time we came back from dinner the rooms where nice and cool. It seemed to be a kind of "Motel" as many guests arrived late, parking trucks and SUV's, then in morning again there was quiet a bit of truck door slamming and chatter from car-park. We were looking for an early start, so it didn't bother us. Room was nice, bed was to my liking and clean sheets. Shower was hot and air-con was modern. Not much on Tv for a westerner. There is a well stocked convenience store just out to left of car-park, and we also walked up to the PTT gas station which has a 7/11 and across the street are some small karaoke bars (we did not go in) Little disappointed with mae Sariang, many restaurants were closed, and even some which were open and had menu on road side said "sorry closed". . . . Seems like we missed the season.

Mitaree Hotel 1 is located in Mae Sariang city centre a block or so away from the river which is the main attraction in this city. It is located in a fairly tall building with several floors of rooms plus some outside wooden bungalows. The hotel rooms are either priced at 450 Baht for the double rooms or 600 Baht for far nicer twin ones. I believe the bungalows are around 700 Baht. This was the third time for me stay at this hotel over a period of 10 years or so and I, therefore, noticed this time that it had been renovated since my previous stay and is now better than before, especially so the 600 Baht rooms which are extremely nice-looking. However, I stayed in one of the 450 Baht ones with walls that are partly tiled and partly painted pink. The floors are also tiled in a wood-like colour. The room was supplied with a comfortable double bed that has a beautiful headboard and lower bedsheet and there are attractive yellow-coloured curtains inside the French windows which give access to an outside balcony which is quite sizeable and is wired off for security reasons. The room has a wooden desk with a mirror, but this desk is in something of a poor condition, being full of rather deep holes. There is also a bedside table in the room. There is a rather old fan fitted to the ceiling which is not a real ceiling fan and there sits an old cathode ray tube television on a large shelf connected to the wall, but I could not make it switch on with either of the remote controls provided. There is efficient air con in the room plus a clothes-hanging stand for drying clothes on the balcony. However, there is no wardrobe, but there are a few clothes hangers on the drying stand. The door into the room is severely damaged on the inside showing extremely large holes in it. The bathroom is tiled, but the tiles on the floor look rather old. There is no shower cubicle – there is just a hole in the floor between the washbasin and the toilet. There is also a mirror hanging above the washbasin. One of the knobs of the water heater in the bathroom has totally broken off, but the heater still works satisfactorily with sufficient spray, but the temperature is very difficult to regulate. There is a large car park to the side of the hotel which is decorated quite attractively in parts with a large kilometre stone at the entrance into it making it unmissable as you approach. There is also free wifi. The reception staff are rather elusive and can be quite difficult to find at times, but are usually to be found in the room next to reception. There is no breakfast, as far as I am aware. All in all, this hotel is quite acceptable and makes a good place to stay in Mae Sariang city centre. I would stay here again next time.

“A basic visit”

The hotel is basic and a bit worn down , perfect if out all day and just need somewhere to sleep! Depending on room stayed in experience may be better , friend’s rooms were better than mine. Beds were a bit hard , balcony not safe for young kids , toilet very basic and gained a smell of sewers over… more

The hotel is basic and a bit worn down , perfect if out all day and just need somewhere to sleep! Depending on room stayed in experience may be better , friend’s rooms were better than mine. Beds were a bit hard , balcony not safe for young kids , toilet very basic and gained a smell of sewers over the week. However, the hotel was clean and sheets were fresh! Offered room service but had to leave the door open throughout the day for this to happen , staff were friendly and helpful despite the language barrier. The neighbourhood felt very safe visited a food market that offered lots of interesting food , locals are very friendly and welcoming into their town.
