This was our second time staying at Puri Villas. We weren’t disappointed. It is such a beautifully designed hotel. The pool area is incredible. Everything was as we had remembered. It was fabulous to return. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast isn’t as abundant as other Thai hotels but the cooked breakfast was great. If you are looking to completely relax this is the perfect place.

Really lovely hotel rooms. We only booked a garden room but got upgraded to a Mountain View which was lovely. Comfy bed and very spacious, the views in this hotel are amazing. We ate in the hotel one night which was also lovely and the set up in the restaurant with a pool table etc overlooking the views is amazing. Breakfast was pretty nice. Also has a gym which was pretty good. Unfortunately the pool was shut when we were there which was very disappointing and probably the main reason we booked the hotel, although they offered a smaller pool in one of the villas it was too small to enjoy if I’m honest. They can give you a lift into town for 200 baht during the day or the free shuttle runs at 1 and 4 which is rubbish timing. The pool and the shuttle are the only reasons I’m giving this a 4 and not a 5 :)

“Bond villain’s mansion in picturesque location”

My partner and I stayed at Puripai for three nights in November. Overall, the hotel is beautiful and very peaceful. The architecture is modern and very picturesque - we think it looks like a Bond villains’ mansion! However, it could use a few improvements to be a 4-star experience. The good: as mentioned the hotel is on a beautiful hill overlooking the mountains near Pai. We stayed in the Mountain View room and had a beautiful view. The grounds are lovely and lush. The location is great if you’re happy being 10 minutes drive outside of Pai and you want relaxation and quiet! Breakfast was good - you can order an egg or thai dish from their menu, but the buffet on its own would have been very lacking. I appreciated the ‘wellness’ aspect with fresh juice and fruit. The gym was pretty good too with towels and water available. Also WiFi around the whole property was strong. The restaurant food on site was delicious if more expensive than in town. The bad: the rooms look great BUT are very dated. There is a strong bad smell from the drain, the bedside lights are switched off by the door which is really inconvenient, and the water in the shower only turns lukewarm, never hot. Importantly, there is no safe which is really poor. The staff forgot to replace the towels in our room one day so we had none. The pool was lovely but ice cold - made it very hard to swim. There was a miscommunication with the shuttle driver into town, where on our first night the shuttle never turned up to collect us. We waited 20 minutes and called the resort to be told the shuttle driver said we had been picked up (obviously not). They eventually came to collect us but there were no apologies. The staff were very friendly with greetings etc but sometimes struggled to understand our questions or requests. Overall, Puripai’s scenic location made it a beautiful stay, and we were very relaxed the day we stayed poolside. However there are some improvements needed to make it a proper 4 star experience with potential for 5 star. We recommend staying if you like scenery, wellness and isolation - but keep what we’ve noted in mind.
