We attended a conference at the Botanic Resort and were pleased with almost everything about our stay. Although the beds are typical hard/Thai style, everything else was very comfortable, and the buildings themselves are beautiful and nicely laid out. The food was delicious. The grounds had many amenities, including a very nice pool area, a futsol field, and an open grassy field for activities. The meeting room was spacious with a decent sound system. Staff was friendly and helpful. The mountain setting was beautiful, with many attractions nearby for those who desire them (Mae Sa waterfalls, elephant camp, Queen Sirikit Gardens and more). I would definitely recommend it.

“Stranger than Fiction”

We arrived at the Botanic Resort at 5:15pm after a long travel weary day, hungry and tired. We were met by the concierge who spoke next to no English. He checked us in, showed us the restaurant and led us down a long series of corridors to our room which overlooked the pool. We showered and made our way back to the restaurant at 6:05pm to find it dark and empty. Confused we hunted down the concierge, only to discover that he had neglected to communicate that the restaurant closed at 6pm. The concierge asserted that there were no other food options at the resort or anywhere nearby, which as we were travelling without a vehicle and were starving was seriously disappointing. We enquired about hiring a taxi to find some dinner, at which the concierge made a lengthy phone call to the local taxi. When he finished talking, he communicated that the taxi no longer ran but the restaurant staff were coming back to feed us. He ushered us (very relieved!) back to the enormous empty restaurant, where we sat waiting with the many cats and mosquitoes for around 1/2 hour before he came back to let us know that actually the restaurant staff weren't coming after all. Super disappointed, we wandered through the otherwise deserted resort back to our room. The day staff were very helpful the next morning, driving us to the gardens on scooters and collecting us again in the afternoon. After a hungry and quite eerie start to our stay at the Botanic Resort we got our restaurant timing right for the next couple of days, enjoyed swimming in the pool and wandering the grounds, and adored our visit to the Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens. The resort itself is spectacularly beautiful, nestled in the jungle with lovely mountain views. I would recommend bringing your own transport and planning to eat early or somewhere else nearby. Because we were the only guests in the entire resort our stay felt quite otherworldly and was a very unusual experience.

We booked a couple of nights for a trail run race and had a nice stay. Spacious bedroom, nice view and lots of sunlight to the room. It is also clean, however the water heater is not working very well in our room. It is quiet and peaceful since the hotel is located above a hill right across from the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden. It is about 3km walk from the hotel to the park and unfortunately with a very steep climb. Taking a taxi is an option but it's quite expensive. Wifi is very spotty. It would work a minute or two then it goes off the rest of the day. TV only has 4 channels. There is also a restaurant across the lobby, but unfortunately we didn't think it was great for the price. Although the breakfast buffet is pretty good which is included with the room. Lunch and dinner from the menu is quite expensive for the quality. There are really no other eateries around so the downside is, the restaurant is the only place to get food without driving too far. We did enjoy watching the rabbits and the horses playing with each other. There is a pool and a swing that is quite relaxing.

This resort is very close to botanic gardens, High up the mountainside, lots of school groups here, very difficult to get away from hotel, need to wait an hour on taxi coming, was offered a lift on motorbike to botanic gardens but declined. Arranged taxi to take us on way to the airport. This resort is half way between Chang Mai and elephant nature resort, food was poor, bring provisions, room and linens and towels very clean. Pool was murky but being cleaned when we were there, wild ponies in the gardens were beautiful and well kept. Staff friendly despite limited English, a great stay for a night but not if you expect to be near Chang Mai

The hotel was in a very nice remote location. It is about a 45 minute ride from Chiang Mai, up in the mountains. Directly across the street is the Botanic Garden, which is a very beautiful place to walk and relax. They had free range chickens and horses on the resort property, it was restful and quiet. WIFI was available in the lobby not in the rooms. The room we were in needed a little TLC to get up to standard (table lamp not working, bathroom fixtures needed tightened, toilet seat tightened, cracks in shower floor, wobbly bed, etc). Ate most meals there, the food was very good and wait staff very hospitable. Conference room was very nice, equipment was more than adequate.
