This resort offers something increasingly rare: space—the kind that makes you instinctively slow down your pace (and possibly your emails). The property is large enough to genuinely breathe, with lush greenery in a calm area that feels miles away from the bright lights and soundtrack of Pattaya (which, luckily, is still very close if you ever miss the noise). The service? Absolutely excellent. Every staff member seems to have mastered that rare art of knowing what you need just before you do—without being too formal or too familiar. It’s the kind of hospitality that makes you wonder if they secretly trained at a five-star empathy academy. There are several eateries to choose from, including a beachside restaurant near one of the three swimming pools. This one is about 35 meters long—serious swimmers will love it, while others can enjoy the many areas designed for relaxation. The food is delicious, and the view is so relaxing it should probably come with a warning: “May cause sudden happiness.” The sea is only a few steps away, with a thoughtful hotel sign reminding guests to watch out for the occasional jellyfish (a discreet reminder that nature is still in charge here—and that awareness is part of the experience). There is also a little café on-site, another gem—great poke bowls for when you’re being sensible, ice cream for when you’re not, and cappuccinos made with visible affection. TV channels include international and French ones (in case you feel the sudden need for familiar voices). In the main restaurant next to the reception, breakfast offers both a wide international buffet with something for every preference and three morning news flyers—a perfect balance between indulgence and information. Evenings end beautifully at the cozy bar, the kind of place where time seems to go missing but your smile doesn’t. It’s clear that a very attentive general manager is behind all this—I even saw her helping at the reception desk when things got busy. That’s leadership by example, and it shows in every detail. All in all, it’s a perfectly pleasant alternative, just about three hours from Bangkok. It also works perfectly as a base for a day trip to Koh Samet; the pier is only 30 minutes away—close enough to be convenient, far enough to feel like a proper escape.

Mini-break for 3 days at the Rayong Marriott Resort and Spa is to be highly recommended for couples, but less so for families especially those with teenagers. We really enjoyed the option of swimming in the warm waters of the Gulf of Thailand or in the vast and cleverly shaded pool that is right on the beach. The staff were hugely welcoming. Special mention goes to Khun Aof, the duty manager in the breakfast room each morning we were there: he was hard-working, proactive, very busy anticipating his guests' needs, and doing it all with an engaging smile. The wide choice of food catered for many international tastes. Two problems: the hotel was being refurbished and the entrance area from the car-park was quite a mess, and the check-in / check-out process was inordinately inefficient. The conference facilities look good but fortunately we were not there for a conference.

We weee lucky to be upgraded and has a fantastic room with views of the sea and spa. The room was spacious and luxury. Thank you! We enjoyed the swimming pool with the slide and staff very attentive. Unfortunately the red now swim flag was put each day or our short stay which was a shame. As we’d had plenty of sea time at koh samet it wasn’t a problem but I’d have been a little disappointed otherwise although can’t be helped. Unsure how often the red flag is out. The main downside is the high cost of the restaurant and shops, which stuck out compared to other hotels we were at on our trip. Overall enjoyable stay, would return for a short stay
