If you are planning a visit to Udon Thani the De Princess hotel is very worthy of consideration. One of those rare hotels where the implied luxury of reception is reflected in the room. Second time here and still not disappointed with either comfort and service. Treat yourself to a one room suite I am sure you will not be disappointed. Very spacious and what a comfortable bed. Rooms are well.done and best beds I have had in Thailand. Good pillows and nice showers. This is the trifecta for making me happy... they actually sell their pillows and mattresses so I gather others have thought the same. Not my high end memory foam bed at home, but nice for a Thai hotel. The hotel is 122 rooms, but it's quiet and has a nice parkade beside it. A bit of a weird nook it sits in (road is tight), but nice property. Good food available on site and staff was excellent. Massages were great at the hotel you just book. The pool is outside and WA being worked on while I was there. The one big con... A/C in the gym didn't work. If you like sweating in a room that's 40 C for your workout it's kinda like hot yoga on a treadmill lol. The gym is limited, but it was clean.

This was our second time staying at De Princess Udon Thani. The first was back in 2000 when the hotel had just opened, so it was nice to come back after all these years. We chose this hotel again because of its location. It’s not on the main road and not too close to the nightlife or loud music, which makes it feel peaceful and relaxing. At the same time, it’s just a quick 2-minute drive to UD Town and Center Point, so it’s still very convenient. One of our favorite parts of this trip was the breakfast. The attendant who took care of us each morning was incredibly sweet and polite. She made our mornings feel warm and welcoming. The breakfast selection was quite varied. On days when there were fewer guests, the spread was smaller, which I actually appreciated. It’s nice to see the hotel trying to avoid food waste, something that’s often overlooked at many places in Thailand. We also really liked how close the parking lot is to the hotel entrance. It made coming and going very easy. In terms of hospitality, amenities, and location, there’s really not much to complain about. We didn’t need a lot, and everything we needed was just right. That said, we did notice a few things that could use some attention to help the hotel stay in great shape for future guests. The toilet flush lever in both rooms we stayed in didn’t work properly. It didn’t return to the right position, so water kept running and the bowl would empty. This seems like a maintenance issue that might be affecting more than one room. The wallpaper, especially in the bathroom, was peeling in some areas and could use a little touch-up to freshen the space. The vanity mirror in the bathroom was also loose and could definitely use some tightening. Housekeeping was mostly fantastic. Our room was always cleaned by the time we returned from being out. However, we did notice a dead mosquito smeared on the bathroom curtain that was there before we checked in and stayed there during our entire five-day stay. Just a bit more attention to details like that would make a big difference. Lastly, we used the pool and were disappointed to see that it wasn’t very clean. There was visible grease and dirt floating on the water, which made it less enjoyable to use. Even with these small issues, we still really like this hotel. It’s peaceful, quiet, and perfect for visiting our local family. We hope the management will take these comments as helpful suggestions, because we would love to keep coming back for future visits.
