We ended up staying at this hotel unexpectedly for just one night, and we were pleasantly surprised. The room was impeccably clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options. Located right in the heart of Balıkesir, the hotel provides easy access to explore the city.

“Nice little hotel”

We stayed here while visiting friends in Balikesir it is a great little hotel, Nice clean room with a kettle in the room & a mini bar full of shop priced drinks. We stayed here while visiting friends in Balikesir it is a great little hotel, Nice clean room with a kettle in the room & a mini bar full of shop priced drinks. Carparking at the front of the hotel was a bit limited. Breakfast had a really good choice of ever thing Turkish, We will use this hotel again when we return to Balikesir its great for an over night stop.

Balikesir is not a mainstream tourist destination - but this hotel has comfortable 3-star rooms, with a 4-star breakfast and 5-star staff - who make a little English go a long way. Start at Reception with a free piece of dried apricot or fig. Press the elevator button - which lights up rather like a slot machine go up to your floor - and head along a spectacularly lit corridor (really nice) for a (not quite) non-smoking room (with a clean ashtray) - but no lingering ash or smell. In fact, my room was so fresh I pretended not to see the cigarette burn in the carpet. The room and bed and fittings are good-ish. There's a TV with more than 200 channels (mostly from Turkey) in alphabetical order, a huge shower head in the bathroom - that provides two large threads of a river from on high - rather than a torrential downpour - but, unlike my last boutique hotel in Izmir - this room has a kettle complete with teabags and a Turkish coffee sachet. The breakfast is worth getting up before 10 am for. It has more types of local cheese and even more kinds of local olives that you might have believed belonged to Balikesir - but they do - along with honey on honeycombs, soft dried figs, hard and harder boiled eggs as one option, with rather special scrambled eggs as another option. The hotel is central too - and the excellent staff can and will recommend local restaurants with even localler food fare. Oh, and I forgot - there's more than one type of massage on offer - along with muddier mud that will cake you all over in ways that I'd ever imagined. All in all - if you can also get a special Booking.com offer on the rate - it'll be your choice of hotel in town - as well as mine.
