“Lovely modest smallish hotel excellently placed for all the main sights.”

We had eight nights here and were extremely happy with our choice( not always the case on past experience with Istanbul hotels.)Irfan on reception was really nice to deal with and having asked on booking for a quiet room away from the lift and a sea view if possible came up trumps.We were given a choice of rooms and chose 303; like many of the traditional rooms in old houses it was quite compact but was wonderfully light with windows on three sides and effective black out blinds. It does face the street but on the whole the double glazing reduced any noise. The hotel itself was quiet;we couldn’t hear other guests.It’s perhaps getting in need of refurbishment in parts but that’s certainly not a criticism.I prefer faded gentility to ruched curtains and satin bedspreads!Our room was kept spotlessly clean and the towels and linen changed very regularly. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was copious and varied with not only the usual Turkish fare,but salads ,fresh fruit and a different homemade cake and biscuits every day.We didn’t need lunch.The men in charge of the breakfast were all friendly and remembered our choice of omelettes. We had one of our most successful stays in the city. It was probably only 10 minutes walk to Haghia Sofia and the Blue Mosque and the no 1 tram stop,15 to Topkapi,the Archaeological Museum and Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art. We would certainly recommend this on many counts.

Great hotel in the historical area. The staff was excellent! They arranged transport to and from the airport, this was definitely the way to go. Only $24 US for two people. Great hotel in the historical area. The staff was excellent! They arranged transport to and from the airport, this was definitely the way to go. Only $24 US for two people. To find your driver on arrival, when exiting the baggage area, go out to main hallway, turn right and go out doorway a bit to your right and in front of you on that level. You will see a bunch of signs and people out there. A little confusing, find your company and ask those people. We came back to IST a couple weeks later, tried Uber, it is not possible at IST, the Uber app will arrange a ride, but police chase the drivers away. So we then had to go to cab stand downstairs, and that worked perfectly fine. The hotel is clean, fantastic breakfast! Comfortable, I would absolutely stay here again!

“A nice little stay for 3 nights!”

Firstly, this hotel is a little gem in the perfect location, close to all the main attractions in Sultanahmet, including the blue mosque, all about a 10-15 min walk away. The T1 metro stop to the rest of Istanbul is also close by, handy for exploring. So many great restaurants and little supermark… more

Firstly, this hotel is a little gem in the perfect location, close to all the main attractions in Sultanahmet, including the blue mosque, all about a 10-15 min walk away. The T1 metro stop to the rest of Istanbul is also close by, handy for exploring. So many great restaurants and little supermarkets close by, so again, handy for an easy stay. The hotel is a little quirky, I wouldn’t class as 4* but a strong 3*, with art deco furniture and finishings. Some say dated, but it was actually like staying in a grand stately home of someone. I liked it. It was also very quiet from any noise outside as our room was overlooking a quiet street. The hotel itself is boutique and quiet. We had room 304, should have been a double bed but I think it was a queen. The bedroom room was pretty small, only downside with the luggage etc. you couldn’t move around easily. The bed was comfy with a firm and soft pillow option. It would have nice to have an iron and ironing board in the room. The bathroom was functional but needed a little modernising. The only downside of this room was it was at the bottom of the stairs to the terrace so people heading for breakfast were chatty and disturbed any morning rest. The staff were very helpful and a credit to the hotel. Breakfast in my opinion was basic, it had options for sure but nothing to shout about, it did drop a point for me on this, we decided to eat out for breakfast. The hotels cafe was brilliant, and you get a 10% discount staying at the hotel! Breakfast was great in there! Would I go back? Absolutely I would. The pros outweighed the minor points.
