This hotel is all about location as it’s is around 15 mins walking from all the major attractions, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar and to the harbour where you can get daily Bosporus river cruises for around £5 per person for an hour. There is a good selection of restaurants near by such as Turgut which is rated very high on Tripadvisor but is alcohol free. The hotel is up a short steep cobbled bank hence not good for people with walking difficulties. Small reception area and the majority of staff are very helpful. The standard twin rooms were acceptable with free safe and two small free bottles of water replenished every day and a nice small fridge to keep them cool. There is a hanging area for clothes no wardrobe and a couple of draws. There is a huge tv in the room and the room was very clean. There was a walk-in shower but can be very slippery when wet. We had a problem with air con not working properly however the hotel sent maintenance to resolve, but they only managed to get the fans blowing and the extraction was still not working hence the fans were just blowing warm air around. I have a little knowledge of how air on works as I requested that maintenance return the following day so I could show them the issue which I believed was a dirty blocked filter. The maintenance man promptly turned up and cleaned the extraction filter and the air con was working like a dream for the rest of our stay. Breakfast was okay with the usual cheese, meat, fresh salad stuff, cereals etc and they also had scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs and beef sausage. They would also make you hot waffles and bring them to you, and they had various toppings but no maple syrup. The hotel can organise some trips for you but I recommend Get Your Guide website or app as they have a larger selection and are cheaper. The hotel can also give restaurant recommendations but Turgut is there No1 to advise but a very good recommendation and only 5 mins walk away and very reasonable about £80 for three of us two courses and soft drinks. The hotel does sell alcohol at the small bar but if you like spirits be careful as they only sell branded spirits and imported spirits in Turkey are very expensive. If you have any problems or advice ask reception as they will always help as much as they can. We had an issue trying to get the pick up time for our taxi which had been booked with our travel provider and Onur on reception called them and got all the information sorted for us. We would return to the hotel but mainly for the location as it was perfect for our first city break to Istanbul.
