This is a very nice hotel about 20 minutes taxi from the key tourist centers. I knew the location due to a previous trip and choose it on purpose to get quiet after the first half of our trip was in the city. For those who do want to tour, this can be out of the way. Also, while there are some nearby places to walk and eat, Yeşilyurt is very nice borough, note that their is an incredible lack of Turkish restaurants in the area. That is unusual in other parts of the city where they are lined up. Italian and coffee seem to be a thing in this town along with quality seafood. The hotel Turkish Mediterranean Restaurant is quite good though. This is resort-ish hotel that has nice views and a good pool area by the water. There is a local beach in view but I never figured out how to get there (probably lack of interest on my part). We were in an Ocean Suite with a 180 degree view of the coast which was beautiful. Its like a small apartment I never wanted to leave. No balcony though so it can feel a bit contained. The staff was good but the service line sometimes lacks English language skills (basic for a Marriott brand). The breakfast is good with a fair selection (By comparison, the JW down the road has one of the best breakfast buffets I have ever had, anywhere). The executive lounge is very nice with a view of the pool and a good happy hour. Overall a very good hotel to escape the city but still be close enough to venture in if you like.

Sitting on my hotel bed after packing before leaving tomorrow and reflecting on the week I’ve had. I have traveled alone for some Turkey Teeth and this hotel was booked by the company. It wasn’t a holiday as such but I managed to book some additional days to enjoy the resort. My review is based on not coming for a holiday but will try cover my experience. I arrived late at night and check in was swift. I did have to make a payment for £329 which I’m not sure what for but was told it was for a balance on charges and I’ll get back what I don’t spend. Not had this before so worth considering. I was escorted to a garden room which was near to the pool but did mean walking close to the pool edge when walking to the restaurant. If I had my kids with me this would have been far from ideal. The room is lovely with a huge double bed, walk in rain shower and a small mini bar and sofa. A huge tv has a variety of the channels in all languages and there is a hair dryer, iron and ironing board and safe. I can’t fault the room and for my weeks stay it’s been lovely. Part of the deal with Dentakay is Full board consisting of buffet breakfast, buffet dinner and a drink. Nothing else was included so worth noting if you want to eat or drink on site as it’s not cheap. A Coke Zero round the pool cost about £4.50 and a bottle of beer is around £10. There is a shop near bye that’s really cheap if you need bits for your room. The breakfast is very good with an array of choice that covers all nationalities here. Coffee machines are for self service and the egg chefs have been great all week. There are several options for evening food but I stuck with the provided buffet all week and the options here are limited. It’s a help yourself buffet style dinner but it’s a limited choice. There’s been a main meal option all week consisting of a meat and fish option with a variety of rice and vegetables. There’s also a salad bar, and quite a lot of options available here as well as a large variety of deserts. I’ve found the quality to be good and I’ve enjoyed all the meals this week, albeit slightly difficult to eat due to dentist work. Water is provided and a soft drink from the bar inclusive. Some of the food on offer is also cooked here from an open fired over and it looks lovely but I didn’t try is because I couldn’t eat much but I have heard it’s pricey. There is a large bar over the restaurant that’s really nice and overlooks the pool and sea. It has live music and been busy all week but I’ve not ventured there much but certainly nice for a late night drink. The pool area is amazing with towels provided and lots of dinners available. There is also an indoor pool with spa, sauna and changing areas. The Gym is one of the best I’ve seen and coming from a sporting background and being a gym manager myself for over 10 years I’ve been really impressed. The equipment is up there with the latest available and there’s lots of it. There is a huge cardio area with every machine you can think of, a functional area to perform your own workouts and weights area with free weights resistance machines which is full of equipment. There is also a full time session list and classes are on most of the day so if you love fitness you will not be bored here. I see several classes take place and was Impressed by the reforma Pilates room also. The local area is quiet and from what I have seen there’s not much about. This is a residential area so I’ve not even seen tourist shops where you can purchase the usual leather goods and gifts you expect when coming to Turkey and I’ve not seen a single bar when I’ve traveled to the dentist. I didn’t venture far but when I did it was all housing and any of the shops are geared for local residents not tourists and this was the case when I traveled to the dentist around 20 minutes away. I was made aware of a shopping centre close by but told it’s solo at stores to the uk and the prices are the same, if not more expensive. Different so some of the tourist areas I’ve visited in Turkey I’ve felt very safe all week including when I’ve walked around the dentist and local streets. There is a local store just round the corner which sells the usual but as this is geared to locals you’ll need to bring the home comforts if you want them. I’ll be coming back in 3 months and I’ll definitely be bringing some Yorkshire tea bags, small milks and sugar. Probably the only real negative from me was the noise and had I been on holiday I would have complained. Altho my room is lovely I am on the very end and the staff service point seems to be down the side of my room so each and every morning I have been woken early by carts and trollies being pushed to the pool and rooms and on a tiled floor it’s noisy. There’s also been a few morning where staff are standing outside chatting and when you’ve just had half your mouth pulled out this isn’t ideal. However it’s not really a reflection of the hotel and more down to bad luck on room allocation but something that’s not really affected me as I’ve planned to be up early anyway. Overall a pleasant trip and the staff and cleanliness of the place has been amazing. It’s a little unfortunate with the noise in the morning but I’ve used that as my call to wake up. I’ll be back for a few days soon and gladly stay here again
