We spent five very enjoyable nights at the Wings Hotel in Karakoy, Istanbul, in late October last year. I booked directly on their website and got a great price on an Executive Suite Room with Balcony on the third floor. There is only one of these rooms with a balcony, so book early and request it. The suite was lovely, with a large bed, a couch with coffee table, a very big bathroom and lots and lots of storage. There was an entire wall of windows with an incredible view over the area where the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus meet. Watching the marine traffic was fascinating. The balcony was just large enough for the table and two chairs but it made the perfect spot for morning coffee and evening wine watching the water and ferry activities. The staff in the hotel were lovely and any request, both before by email and whilst we were there, was dealt with swiftly and kindly. Breakfast was served in their top floor restaurant, again with spectacular views. There was a vast choice of breakfast food cooked to order, which is much nicer than a buffet. There was both traditional Turkish and western style food. I believe that they served dinner in the restaurant too, but we never saw anyone there. Unfortunately they do not serve any alcohol, so presumably that is why it was always empty in the evenings. They had no problem with us drinking wine in our room and on our balcony though, they just didn’t serve it. I highly recommend a stay at The Wings hotel. The location is perfect for getting around Istanbul, with both ferries and a tram within five minutes walk. The Tunel funicular up to Istiklal Street and onto Taksim Square was only a short walk away, as was Galata Port. Restaurants and shops surround the hotel, so finding somewhere for dinner is very easy indeed.

We had an excellent stay and were more than satisfied with every aspect of this hotel. After visiting this city many times over the years, we can confidently say this is the best accommodation we have experienced so far. The staff truly made the difference — professional, welcoming, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile. Their service level sets a very high standard and makes you feel genuinely valued as a guest. Everything was well-organized, comfortable, and exceeded our expectations. We will most definitely return and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a top-quality stay.

My recent stay at The Wings Hotel Karakoy was exceptional, making it a highly recommended choice for anyone visiting Istanbul. The hotel is impeccably maintained and spotlessly clean, contributing to an immediate sense of comfort upon arrival. The accommodation was a highlight. Our room was notably spacious and extremely comfortable, thoughtfully equipped with all the necessary amenities for a relaxing and convenient stay. The only thing missing was the body lotion, which we thought was odd to be left out. The hotel's location is strategically superb. It is within easy walking distance of major transportation links, including trains and trams, as well as multiple key places of interest, allowing for effortless exploration of the city. The à la carte breakfast was superb; the food was consistently tasty, creatively prepared, and beautifully presented. Finally, the level of service truly elevated our experience. The staff, particularly Meryem and Emir, were proactive, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. Their excellent service made us feel consistently appreciated and cared for throughout our entire visit.

Staff very welcoming. Room large and very clean. The roof terrace for breakfast has beautiful views. We had a side view room so could see the excavations, but work appeared to be finished - the area will be a park. Caused no disturbance. . As other reviews have said it is a perfect location to visit the sights and is surrounded by many restaurants and bars. Double glazed so no noise. No passing traffic. I got ill on the last day of our stay - I was guided to a taxi and a clinic suggested - this was very much appreciated as we flying later in the day. I got the medication I needed from an English speaking doctor.
