I just didn’t understand the compulsory payment for trays during room service (it’s like a compulsory tip for the people who make deliveries to the room.)

“Superb”

This is a very cosy hotel with very spacious suites for rooms. You would have the option of ordering food in or cooking your own preferred meals with the suite being furnished fully. Nice gym as well.

I stayed here in 2014 for 2 weeks and this time for one week. The good about the hotel: the suites are massive, comfortable and well equipped, including a kitchen - its a good option for the work traveller; it is in a quiet and clean suburb - which is nice if you want to go for walks or jogs; there is a large swimming pool and a well-equipped gym; the staff are friendly; the food at the restaurant is decent. Things that might get to the really posh traveler are: the breakfast spread is overcooked; most of the furniture in the rooms is old (the couches especially); the service in the restaurant is slow (not unusual in Kampala); there are lots of signs of lack of maintenance; the fog the outside area for mosquitos every night and the bar at the pool can be a bit noisy, especially on weekends. I would stay again, but next time I will try to get a rate that excludes breakfast and prepare that in my room.

First you have to call ahead before checking in which we did, however we arrived 10 mins early and couldn't get in so we drive around and came back but no one was there so I called. She came 5 mins later. There are also 2 flights of stairs you need to walk up before you get to elevator, not a problem for us but if you have a had time climbing steps it might be too much. Check-in was easy and we were lucky to find on street parking otherwise they do have parking about 5mins away. The apartment is beautiful and well furnished, even had a washer/dryer but since they are new no one knew how to use it and instructions were only on Spanish. We googled how to use it, having said that there was no wifi on the 2nd floor which we were on and when we asked about it we were told she didn't know why it wasn't working but didn't do anything about it. The 1st & 3rd floor had WiFi so we had to go to one of those too use it otherwise the signal was too weak. Don't know that I would recommend this hotel simply because there are so many options to stay in Santander you don't need to settle for less.
