Early January midweek snowboarding trip - these lodges are an absolute steal at this time of year. Massive lodge, really well appointed, lovely grounds, short walk to bar and restaurant at the Hilton Hotel. Warm, comfortable, well equipped kitchen, and a drying cupboard for the snow gear 👍 Free use of the refurbed pool, jacuzzi and saunas. Fantastic. Only gripe would be lack of range of decent beers in the bar, although I'm guessing that'll be Hilton head office central purchasing..... So many good local breweries and craft ale makers in the area.... Went to moness resort in aberfeldy a month later, much cheaper downmarket place - but superb bar full of local ales and spirits... Have a word with head office 😉

The accommodation was great, the facilities were great and the location was great. The lodge was well kept and modern and had everything that we needed - it actually exceeded our expectation and is probably one of the rest RCI resorts that we have stayed at - definitely in the UK. The facilities included a swimming pool, gym, squash court, table tennis and snooker table - all well kept and maintained. Also the bar and restaurant served great food.

“Excellent resort”

An excellent and spacious lodge, even a 1 bedroom unit. Very nice hotel on site with large pool and very good lounge and restaurant. Lovely location on Royal Deeside.

We were booked into a three-bedroom chalet and were disappointed on arrival to find, a bin bag on the front door, dog poo bags and dog mess outside, which was particularly disappointing because this stay was a birthday surprise for my daughter. The hotel offered compensation in the form of a complimentary breakfast, as the chalet was also not the forest-view accommodation we had originally booked when I discussed with the booking reception. Check-in was somewhat confusing, as we were not given key information needed to fully enjoy our stay, such as a map of the area or being told that a guest pass was required to access the leisure pool centre. Despite this, the stay itself was enjoyable. The leisure pool area is lovely and was especially enjoyed by my grandchildren. The location is convenient, being close to the village of Ballater, which offers a small but pleasant selection of shops and cafés to visit, even in the pouring rain. The chalet was exceptionally clean, although the décor is quite dated. The electricity charge came to £46, which felt rather high for a stay from 4pm check-in, two nights, and a 10am checkout, particularly as we spent little time in the chalet. Overall, we had a nice, relaxed stay. Would I recommend it? Probably but to watch the electricity meter, but the next time I will probably opt for a privately owned chalet, to guarantee a good chalet.
