The wedding we attended was great. Such an ideal place to hold the event with speakers and stage and large dance floor. Front desk very attentive always assisting with every request we had. Many thanks to “mumin” & Kahn on the night shift who was very supportive on the night shift. Rabin and Natalia were very professional. They have grab and go in reception so can get more drinks into the nights. We slept great with a good nights sleep. The breakfast was top notch and great options. Our room was booked by a relative, which resulted in a bit of confusion at reception. We had difficulty finding the hotel, as it sems to have changed its name from Marriott, which is how the place appears on local maps, to Delta, a name I'd never heard of and which the Bexleyheath locals we asked didn't know either. 'Marriott' is a name known worldwide, so why rebrand it? Brands take decades to establish, so that seems a weird strategy. Reception was suffocatingly hot - I don't know how the staff can stand it. As we waited to check in, a couple complained about the lack of aircon in their room - a bad sign. The rattle from the vents near the ceiling in the room suggested that some sort of air circulation was meant to be in operation, but it was pretty much useless, and we got far more benefit from opening the window at night. Even so, it was too warm for comfort. Not what you expect from a 4* hotel run by a big international chain. And, as reviews here make clear, the lack of effective aircon has been a problem for MONTHS (since June at least). You really need to sort this out. That said, the hotel is finished and furnished to a high standard - tasteful and really spacious. We were impressed with the room - bed, bedside tables (neat to have lamp incorporating USB slot), desk, comfy chair, bathroom - all of good size and spotlessly clean. Also iron, ironing board, hair dryer and safe in the big wardrobe. But where were the tea & coffee making facilities? This was a big disappointment. Eventually, while opening things at random, I found them: hidden away on a pull-out tray in the cupboard unit under the vast TV, along with a couple of bottles of very warm water. How difficult would it be to put a little sign on the cupboard door to tell you about it? Perhaps it was secret that was revealed if you scanned the QR code on a cardboard sign on the desk. Useless for me as I have no smartphone. Like a proportion of the population, my fingers are non-electroconductive and don't operate touchscreens. (Many other people can't use smartphones for other physical/medical reasons.) Maybe think about this instead of assuming 100% of people have 100% access to digital tech 100% of the time. We people exist too, and our money is surely as good as anyone else's. Several in our party commented unfavourably on the insane water pressure from the shower. Usually, the complaint is that pressure is too low and water just dribbles out, but no, this was like being hit on the head by a water cannon! Can't you find a happy medium? I found the mattress rather hard, but my wife was happy with it it. Final whinge - quite a serious one, as it's safety-related - is that the way into the hotel from the adjacent multi-storey car park is either via a sinister stairway with dramatically peeling paint or (the route we took as the ladies weren't keen to take their chances with the stairway) a ground-level path, that turns a corner and is really dark due to lack of lighting. For a lone woman this would be a very scary place indeed - fertile ground for muggers. For anyone with less than excellent night vision it's dangerous because part-way along there are steps on the right-hand side that you could easily tumble down. This route needs to be properly lit. Breakfast was excellent - one of the best spreads I've come across. Thoroughly recommended. Choice of cereals, fruit salad, juices, bread, pancakes, waffles, croissants, bacon, sausages, beans, decent hash browns, mushrooms, tomatoes, ham, salami, cheeses, even mackerel (a novelty I didn't try this time round), fresh fruit, etc. Very impressive. In summary: physically, this hotel is excellent and the staff seem to be good too. But the lack of effective aircon and a variety of other, easily resolved defects - caused by thoughtlessness, perhaps - knocked a star off your rating for me.
