We had a wonderful weekend at Hotel du Vin Birmingham celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday, and it couldn’t have been more special. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff, Antonia and Anaiah, made us feel so welcome. They were both incredibly friendly, helpful and genuinely lovely, making our stay start perfectly. We decided to upgrade to a suite, and it was absolutely worth every penny. It was incredibly spacious, beautifully furnished, and made the celebration feel even more luxurious. We’d also like to thank the bar staff for their kindness and willingness to help us take drinks up to our suite so we could celebrate with friends. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and their excellent service really added to the occasion. Thank you to everyone at Hotel du Vin Birmingham for making my husband’s 60th birthday such a memorable one. “Exceptional”

Omar and Dumitru were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. I was well looked after and room was excellent. Upgraded to suite without asking and would highly recommend here. Thank you for making my short trip memorable.

I stayed at Hotel du Vin for two nights and, overall, found the experience somewhat disappointing given the price point. The hotel itself feels dated, and unfortunately, noise travels easily throughout the building, which made it difficult to fully relax. There was also an overall atmosphere that felt a bit uncomfortable at times. Considering the cost of the stay, I expected a higher standard in both the facilities and overall experience. Service was inconsistent during my stay. While some staff members were polite, I did encounter a few interactions that felt less welcoming than expected, including from members of the management team, which was disappointing. That said, my experience improved significantly on my final morning during breakfast. The food itself was fresh and enjoyable, although the layout of the self-service area for coffee and pastries felt a bit disorganised and below expectations for the price. What truly stood out, however, was the excellent service from Philipe and Reuben. They appeared to be managing the breakfast service between them and did so with genuine warmth, professionalism, and efficiency. Despite the early hours, they maintained a positive attitude, took the time to engage with guests, and created a welcoming atmosphere. Their approach made a real difference to my overall impression of the hotel. Philipe, in particular, left a lasting impression with his friendly and personable manner. It is always appreciated when staff go the extra mile to make guests feel comfortable and valued. In summary, while the hotel itself did not fully meet expectations in terms of value for money and overall standard, the outstanding service from Philipe and Reuben helped turn the experience into a more positive one. “Clean and great area, disappointing for breakfast”

Location is amazing, just a short walk from the main line station, and lots of lovely places for a drink or a bite to eat around. When checking in it was not unfriendly, but no info on room, breakfast or any recommendations for anything in the area. Just a bit of a lack luster welcome. We had booked a deluxe room and it was large, but was lacking in decoration. Seemed like they had the same amount of decor for a smaller room, and just went with it. Would have been plenty of space for a small table and chairs. The bed was also pretty scratched up, as well as being broken on one end. It was also to short for taller people. The bathroom was lovely with nice products and everything you might need in a bathroom, and we were able to get some extra bits from reception. We did have to go down as no one answered the in room phone. Things were pretty clean though and we appreciated a top up of towels and water during our stay. Breakfast is what truly and utterly let this hotel down. The first day we had avocado toast and an eggs royal. The avocado toast was fizzy, over powered with lime juice in what I can only assume was an attempt to get further days out of it! Both eggs were massively over cooked. The buffet was not really topped up, and it just felt forgotten about. The second days breakfast was better but again absolutely not worth the extra £! I would not return, and after this experience I would hesitate to book a hotel du vin hotel in the future.
