“Cant fault”

Great hotel, staff very friendly, Dan with his lovely beard was only on his 2nd shift, he was very efficient polite and professional. Food was great entertainment great. Room was good just a little dated but overall enjoyable stay.

Booked this hotel last minute as weve stayed twice previously at this hotel and this is ehh we decided to come back but now we won't return unless standards are changed. The condition of the rooms and hotel is in a dire state, we arrived on Friday and quickly got changed and left only returning to sleep. When we returned we noticed the condition of the carpet but thought we are only sleeping here it will be fine. We then woke on Saturday and actually saw how bad it was along with other issues. There were multiple stains/burns in the carpet, the beds had stains and scratches on/the bath had enamel coming away the whole room was dirty. I contacted reception who didn't hesitate to move us or offer a deep clean, I feel they knew the condition of this room as they didn't even offer to come and look. A deep clean would have taken days, this made me think they knew how bad that room was. Unfortunately we had to be split into 2 separate rooms which doesn't help matters when you go away for a family break. On packing up our room we then noticed all chocolate down the side of the bed, when we hadn't even eaten in there. Had the room been cleaned? I stayed in room 211 and my husband had to share the other room with our other daughter as they couldn't stay on their own. The door to room 211 doesn't close properly unless you pull it, it also moves all the time so the noise of this when trying to sleep isn't great. Both rooms smelt musty and the bedding also smelt to the point I felt sick with the smell. The whole hotel is in need of modernising or a carpet clean. We didn't see one cleaner apart form today when we was leaving but no cleaners in the communal areas which were filthy. The chairs in the entertainment room are in need of changing, it would be comfier to sit on the floor. We can't fault the staff as they were all amazing and welcoming but unfortunately we won't return unless things change and it's a shame as the hotel used to be good but it's being let down.
