I would like to start with the positives, which is the owner was truly a lovely person, you can tell he takes pride in his business as the place was spotless and he was always very attentive, especially over night. The room we stayed in was spotless, had a lovely sea view and we made friends with a seagull we called chunky. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The negatives was the fact that we spent 100.00 for an over night stay, I would not really class as a worthy 100.00 night room. The water had no pressure, having a shower a good warm shower was not on the cards. The shower was slow running with no pressure and was not warm at all. We had zero sleep at all due to the unfortunate behaviours of our fellow neighbours who ended up being arrested at 5AM by armed police. However this was continuous throughout the night starting from 1240AM. From speaking loudly on the phone for over an hour disclosing the crime committed aloud for the us to hear, to randomly disappearing for the police to then first arrive at about 2AM, who then continued their conversation right outside our bedroom door. Which we really truly appreciated because who really spends 100.00 on a night away to not actually sleep. Following this they remained on site alittle longer and a woman shows up. Who we then was able to confirm they was with the loud speaking man previously. We deducted this from listening to her speaking very loudly on her phone for 30 minutes. (At this point it's 3AM I've had no sleep and I am pissed). We called the owner who was lovely enough to come upstairs and ask her to please quiet down and get her stuff and leave. She eventually did this but took another 30 mins. Comes to 4AM the guy is back. Lucky us. He remains alittle silent until the police show once again. By this point we nodded off for a brief 30 mins. (Yes we treated ourselves a cheeky nap during the dinner show we have received since 1240AM). The police startled us with another loud banging on his door. As our doors are literally glued together we both jumped up. We hear it's the police they got in to the chaos room and finally arrested him. But shock... They didn't take him down stairs they didn't fancy letting the poor chap get cold. Nope the stood outside our door searching him and waited a lovely additional 10 mins for the van to arrive whilst talking very loudly outside our door. By this point sleep was pointless. Bonus is the man was finally taken away. Down side dinner show was over and we was left with no sleep. The owner in the morning bless his heart was nothing but lovely about this. He had no control over the police showing up as he was also just as baffled and surprised. We all had a good chuckle about this over a lovely cooked breakfast spread. I personally don't think we would plan to come back. I didn't see the room full value for money, but the place is spotless, the owner is fantastic and the breakfast was a lovely addition.

Whilst this is a basically comfortable and clean hotel, it is not a 4 star as advertised. We booked a deluxe room with sea view, we got the sea view but no luxury. Whilst this is a basically comfortable and clean hotel, it is not a 4 star as advertised. We booked a deluxe room with sea view, we got the sea view but no luxury. The blinds were creased and weights and beads broken so they did not close properly, the bed was uncomfortable, there was no wardrobe or drawers and the pillows were flat and hard. Some diy is required in the room also as there are various yellow stains on the ceiling where leaks have occured and an area where the plaster is sandy and flaking off due to damp. Dining room was small and cramped at breakfast. It doubled up as a bar so all tables were close together, my Husband found it difficult getting in and out of some due to his disability. Our table on the second day was almost in the doorway. The owner seemed quite stressed at breakfast and made no effort to engage with us apart from taking our order. Breakfast was ok but had better. Egg was burnt so complained, owner brought second egg which was just as burnt. When i complained about this owner seemed slightly annoyed and said yolk was runny which I'd asked for but he completely ignored the fact that the whole egg was burnt and black. I was given toast with mould on on the second day, when i informed the owner about this, he just said he was sorry! Car parking is a nightmare, if you get a parking space nearest the hotel entrance you are basically stuck there until others move their car so its impossible to get out unless others leave before you do. Location wise the hotel is good, on the seafront, a 10 - 15 minute walk on the flat into town and is close to all the pubs, north and central piers, amusements, tower etc. We attended the Northern Soul Christmas party at the Tower Ballroom which was fantastic. Northern Soul Train band were amazing. I would not stay at this hotel again for the above reasons.
