“Very good”

Nice and friendly welcome very cosy and a short drive to the beach. Food was good sized portions and reasonably priced as well. Room was standard size and bed super comfy

Two couples met here - mid point for travel ( south & North Yorkshire). Good to have dog friendly place, but overall the place was mediocre & needs a bit of an overhaul inside and out. Staff friendly ( but a bit on the prickly side) and the food was good, but not great although it was good to see a limited menu - suggesting fairly fresh! Coffee was ok, but what place these days can’t offer hot milk or cream with the coffee !?

I’m adding my own review following a recent overnight stay, as my experience reflects much of what my friend has already shared here. The room was clean, adequately equipped, comfortable, and ideal for an overnight stay, and the staff we met were friendly. Unfortunately, breakfast didn’t meet expectations. The full English portions my friends ordered were quite small in comparison to the images displayed in the hotel, definitely more plate than produce and my avocado and poached eggs were very poorly prepared. The toast was thin and barely toasted, the avocado had an overly smooth, paste-like texture, which looked as though it had literally been scraped on and back off again and the two poached eggs were very much undercooked. When I cut into the first egg, the egg white literally ran all over the toast. When this was mentioned to the waitress, the plate was taken away and another one offered, which I politely declined. I ended up having a couple of pastries instead, The Continental breakfast choice was very limited. It would have been nice as a matter of courtesy if a duty manager had followed up after the inedible breakfast was returned, or an apology relayed from the kitchen, but no one came back to us. That said, we would stay at the hotel again, it was located close to The Spa where we were heading that night and it provided us with our basic needs, but purely because of our breakfast experience, we would choose to eat elsewhere, as the breakfast experience sadly did let the stay down.
