Very convenient for an early flight. Lovely bar meal. Nice cosy room and good shower. Will use again.

Went there with work for our Christmas meal and wasn't disappointed. Staff were jolly and really attentive and the food came out piping hot and looked and tasted delicious. We only had a limited time for our party and although we were warned that, due to the size of their kitchen, the food would come out staggered it wasn't apparent to us as a constant flow of hot, tasty meals kept coming. Dessert was equally good and I only wish the lemon tart was on their regular menu. 😋

“Great as usual bar one small issue”

We had our 4th visit last week for pre flight sleep. As always the bed is gorgeously comfortable and the bedding good quality. We had our 4th visit last week for pre flight sleep. As always the bed is gorgeously comfortable and the bedding good quality. The facilities are basic but enough and still our preferred airport digs. We didn’t eat at the pub this time but had a drink in the bar. Staff friendly as always. Our only complaint is that the shower head in our room (14, same as our last visit) was broken and would not stay up so hubby had to hold it up to let me shower (he wasn’t complaining lol) and then as I lathered up in conditioner the hot water went and I had to shower it off in freezing cold water, not what you want at 10pm!

We booked the Fox & Goose so as to be close to Bristol Airport for an early flight, thinking that being a pub, it might have more character than airport hotels. Let’s start with the positives – there was plenty of parking, and all three staff in the bar when we arrived and checked in were very friendly and helpful. We were shown to our room, which was a family suite with two separate adjoining rooms (we both snore, so were hoping for a good night’s sleep prior to travelling!) The room had a very strong smell of furniture polish – there are worse things a hotel room can smell of, but it was quite overwhelming. We headed to the bar for a drink and something to eat. The beer selection was very limited – only one real ale and 3 lagers (Fosters, Moretti, and San Miguel), none of which were the ones we would normally drink. The food was standard pub grub, OK, but nothing to write home about (we had the scampi & chips). There was absolutely no atmosphere in the bar, and it was also physically chilly, so we returned to our room for an early night. At that point, we discovered that 3 out of the 4 bedside lights were not working. I retired to the twin room and was a bit disturbed to see huge swathes of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. Neither of us got much sleep due to the noise of traffic from the road and of the planes, and the furniture polish smell. In the morning, when checking out, I mentioned the broken bedside lights to the staff member, who did not apologize, just said she would have a look. Overall, we would definitely not stay there again.
