“Perfect stay”

An exceptionally good hotel. ALL the staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful, it really does make a difference. Fantastic spacious room, spotlessly clean. Dinner and breakfast both excellent. We will definitely be back

1-night stay for work (I was working at the hotel the next day), was in a room on 2nd floor. Good greeting by staff at reception, space in car park which is free. 1-night stay for work (I was working at the hotel the next day), was in a room on 2nd floor. Good greeting by staff at reception, space in car park which is free. Room was comfortable, ensuite was good, TV and wifi were good. Good sized desk to work at with decent chair if required. The only disappointment was young children running up and down the 2nd floor corridor.

Good location, near local supermarkets as I found the food poor, but I am veggie. Nice place let down by housekeeping as the room was not cleaned. There was toothpaste on the shower door frame, and splashes on the bathroom door from the last acupant, we stayed 2 nights it was still on the door when we left. I was appauld to see the ceiling fire detector covered with a plastic bag i was told its common practice and that often a sock was used as this allows people to smoke without setting off the alarms. I asked for it to be removed earlier morning and it was still covered in the afternoon. When I confronted the lady in reception she was not impressed and accused me threatening her. I suggested if she didn't get it removed I would contact HSE, the hotel was putting people at risk. That behaviour might be acceptable in the Eastern block but not in the UK. I seldom use hotel kettles which is just as well because the kettle was furred up I couldn't get the lid off, and when I did the lid broke and yes the kettle was dirty.

The staff and rooms in the Hotel were excellent. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional in the reception and the restaurant servers. However I had the fish on my last night there and subsequently spent the whole night with sickness and diarrhoea. I wanted to stay another night and finish with my clients the following day, bit no mention or offer of a complimentary room was made, and therefore an additional cost would be incurred. When you a a 5 hour drive from home and you have to then arrive with clients looking particularly rough, TBH I was less than impressed.
