It's our go-to hotel when we go to Chester. It's the far side of Chester but still a cheap taxi ride into the town. The facilities are good, it has a pool, not that we've been in it yet! next time maybe! Food is fair. The staff are always welcoming and friendly, ready to help with any issues or questions. The place itself could really do with a massive refurb, the rooms are exhausted and tired, the decoration in the rooms is not the best, however, the beds are amazingly comfortable. So that's all you really need, as long as you have a good sleep, the rest doesn't overly matter. Although the bathroom could do with a massive deep clean and a bottle of bleach throwing around it, certainly the one we were in. The advantage of this place is that there is ample free parking. That's one of the reasons we use that, rather than any other place in Chester.

“Professional Staff”

“Good hotel despite tired rooms”

Quirkily reminiscent of the infamous Crossroads Motel, this Sixties (?) construction has not worn particularly well but has had enough tarting up to make it acceptable, though a major overhaul is surely overdue. Our executive room was tired with mouldy windows, doors hanging off cupboards, old lighting and furnishing. The important stuff, though, was fine; decent bathroom with a powerful shower (but why no grab handles for safe access to the shower over bath?), ample hot water, good toiletries, desperately thin toilet paper (?), bed good but needs to be a proper king size, large safe at a sensible height, decent fridge (but no price list for the stuff in it). WiFi excellent, fast and free with no login kerfuffle. Everything clean, too. No nonsense on room servicing, either, just hang a door handle label out if you want it done. So simple but seemingly beyond competitors like Premier Inn. Room quiet with windows closed, little noise from neighbouring rooms. Parking very good. Food in restaurant tasty, good selection and well priced, fast delivery. Service excellent in all aspects, staff friendly, proactive and efficient. I’m currently very impressed with Holiday Inn and they are definitely my first choice in budget hotels.

“Wasn’t worth the money, but some parts were good. And some parts were bad.”

We had to walk a while to our room, wasn’t good, I found some biscuit crumbs on the floor under the bed, restaurant was on 1st floor when usually on ground floor. Although the bed was comfy and there was a smart TV.
