It's hard to say what we loved most about The Pheasant Inn. The location is serene and peaceful, the rooms are comfortable and well appointed, the restaurant is an absolute gem, and the staff are incredible. It's a bit of a ride to get here, but once here, you are content to take in the quiet of the countryside with a beverage in hand. We enjoyed one of the many walks around the area, as well. Highly, highly recommend The Pheasant Inn for a wonderful stay.

We stayed for 1 night as attending a family wedding at Peckforton Castle. We arrived before check in time and the room was ready, ideal as we just wanted to drop bags off. We stayed for 1 night as attending a family wedding at Peckforton Castle. We arrived before check in time and the room was ready, ideal as we just wanted to drop bags off. We called in the pub later on for a night cap, such a nice, cosy pub. Stayed in the Delamere room, gorgeous inside. Breakfast the next morning, plenty on offer all amazing. Sat outside with a coffee outside before we left to take in that stunning view. We cannot fault our stay, staff really friendly, especially the young lady who took the effort to let us know our room was virtually ready for check in and then served us at breakfast. Thank you.

“Best kept secret”

Best kept secret, walkers and pets paradise, but if without pets fabulous too. Great location, staff super friendly, food excellent. Will visit again.

Booking was simple and made directly with the hotel over the telephone (as we have dog) for their ‘Superior Double Room’ on a dinner, B&B basis. No payment required upon booking - card details are used to guarantee your booking and they operate a free cancellation up to 48 hours prior to arrival date. The Hotel itself was not particularly easy to find, be careful if using their given postcode in your Satnav, however, there is free parking on site, which, at times does become somewhat crowded. Check in was friendly and comprehensive and we were familiarised to the various aspects available to guests, such as the bar, restaurant, etc. on the way to the room. Service throughout our stay was mainly knowledgeable and staff were welcoming and helpful. Our room was located on the 1st floor (no lift), above the courtyard. Our room was spacious, clean, nicely furnished, had a super king bed, whilst the adjoining bathroom was complete with shower over bath, sink and toilet. Normal facilities are available (tea, coffee, milk, bottled water, etc) and there is free (sign-in) Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel that operated, during our stay, at a somewhat weak strength at times (not suited to extensive streaming or heavy downloads/uploads). The downstairs bar area was comfortably stylish and relaxed, where you could get a full menu meal or snack. The bar had local beers available (but no local ciders) and a comprehensive wine list (again no local wines), a selection of spirits and some classic cocktails for the more adventurous. The views from the outdoor terrace were a highlight, if you can get a seat as it tends to attract walkers and cyclists in addition to the hotel guests. Breakfast was taken in the on the restaurant and included pastries, fruit compotes, yogurts, fresh fruit & juices, etc along with a good variety of cooked to order options. We have not given it this review 5-star rating as certain items from the menu, at the evening meal on the 1st night, were definitely not up to standard by any means, this was passed on and acknowledge by the staff present at the time, though no further action was apparent or forthcoming. We were not the only quests to complain that evening! The Hotel room prices are within today’s high to middle range of what we would have expected. All in all, an enjoyable getaway and one I would recommend to others, especially if you enjoy countryside walking.
