We stayed at the Voco Rockingham Forest for one night to break a long journey. It was our first time here but we have stayed at other Voco hotels previously and been impressed. Somehow, the Voco Rockingham Forest managed to impress us even more. The buildings are modern and only recently refitted to Voco style and standards. From the moment you enter the foyer, the vibe is contemporary, chilled and relaxed. Check in was swift. Our room was a good size by today's standards, with modern furnishings and thought given to the location of mirrors, electrical sockets and storage. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in, the pillows likewise, and the gorgeous crisps sheets and light, fluffy quilt, have made me re-think what we use at home! We had a brilliant sleep. The bathroom had a demisting mirror, memorable shower, and space under the washbasin to place toiletries. We dined in the restaurant. The menu is short but imaginative – not just the usual burgers and pizzas. I am gluten-free but also pescatarian. When there wasn't an obvious choice for me on the menu, a quick chat with a very helpful member of staff brought suggestions from the chef as to what he could make for me. My husband's Pil Pil Prawns was a brilliant starter and arrived quickly. Our main courses were Steak Frites (pronounced very good) and cod with chips, smashed peas, watercress and a super tartare sauce, all of which was tasty and nicely presented. Desserts were sticky toffee pudding with cream and a gluten free chocolate torte. Both were super. The team of staff were lively and chatty but also efficient, the whole experience a delight that exceeded our expectations. The bill was very reasonable. Breakfast was fine. It's hard to put a finger on what made the experience a little 'meh', especially since all of the choices of breakfast dishes were there. Maybe it was the atmosphere? The staff member on duty was welcoming, my made-to-order porridge with honey the nicest on our trip, the food hot, and so on. The rather flat experience wouldn't put me off returning but it didn't 'wow'. We booked this hotel only the night before and chose it mainly for its location but also because we've had reliable and enjoyable experiences previously from Voco. Voco Rockingham didn't just not disappoint, it genuinely delighted us. The product is good but the staff are brilliant, interacting genuinely – no mean feat in the world of hospitality today.

I’ve stayed here for work a lot when it was a best western, this was my first stay since the upgrade and wow! So pleased you have a lift now!! The room was beautiful, bathroom stunning. The selection of teas and coffee was fab. The receptionist who checked me in such a sweetheart, the restaurant team - what an improvement! We had the nicest waitress who couldn’t do enough for me and my colleagues. Dinner & breakfast were fantastic! My only negative comment I have is the pillows, far too soft not enough neck support. Having the starbucks inside the deli was a great touch being able to take it back to my room for the evening felt like home!

Location is good room was ready very clean everywhere quiet and pleasant throughout the hotel.. Room temperature fine beds very comfortable shower room good the only problem in the room is there’s no dressing table or draws the females had to sit on a stool in front of full length mirror to do their face make up with everything on the floor in front of them not ideal at all. Breakfast minimal cereals and everything spread in different areas around the restaurant the toaster is absolutely useless although the cooked items were plentiful and hot. Car parking excellent. We used the ballroom which is also excellent. In general the hotel is very good will use it again. Pity the one problem in the room or I would give it 5 stars. Didn’t eat an evening meal so unable to comment on the restaurant.
