We went as a group of 40 and everyone had a great time. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were all very clean with our bathroom having a bath with shower over it. The bed was fine with plenty of room. The bed room had plenty of drawers and wardrobe space. We had breakfast and dinner included in our package and the dinner was outstanding. I did not use the swimming pool but members of our party said it was good

We recently had our wedding day at Derby Mickleover Hotel. From the get go Hannah Orchiston put us at ease and explained the whole process, she is clearly passionate about her job and it shows! The venue are also pretty flexible if you want to just dry hire the venue (which we did) but staff were still around helping to tidy the tables, tell people where to go and make sure myself and Corey had everything we needed. Zoe covered the chairs and used the most perfect coloured bows to match the colour scheme we had planned and the chairs looked so lovely for the ceremony and reception. The day went smoothly and I knew there was nothing to worry about! The DJ Andy was awesome and such great value for money too. Big thank you also to Kamal, who went out of his way to fetch our food, keep our drinks topped up and even had a bit of a dance with us. The room we stayed in was on the 3rd floor and was huge! The facilities were also very clean and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed spending the day after having a cooked breakfast which was delicious and buffet style - followed by a couple of hours in the pool, sauna and steam room. Which we also thoroughly enjoyed. Location is perfect as it’s just off the A38 and for us locally was very easy to get to- free parking for guests is also a win! There’s plenty of space in the car park as well as an underground space for additional parking. Would highly recommend Derby Mickleover for any couples getting married as the whole team were so accommodating and professional. Thank you so much , from Mr & Mrs Hind x

“The leisure centre has improved immensely”

I have been coming here for the pool, gym and sauna for the last 8 months and since the new year they have improved everything phenomenally, the service by Sam, Craig and Connor is amazing, incredibly personable and welcoming. I have been recommending this leisure centre to all my friends recently.

We visited the hotel for a short weekend break. The hotel is a few miles from Derby itself. It is easy access from the motorway. Check in was smooth. We stayed at a suite room. Just by walking into the room it was clear that a few years ago, this would be the base for a lot of football teams based on the pictures on the wall. The suite toom was nice and big. We had a living room area with a fridge and large tv as well as a large dining table. The bedroom was big which also had its own television set. There is a balcony but for safety issues we could not use it. We also had a large bathroom with a separate shower and a bath/shower combo as well. Some of the furnishings showed wear and tear, but that is reflected on the price. It would have been nice to use USB sockets by the bed, well actually more plug sockets by the bed. We had breakfast included and it was a nice set up. Very much to the Best Western standard, fried eggs, hash browns, good Danish pastries, croissants etc. The coffee from the hot drinks machine was not that great, I settled for hot chocolate. The hotel has a small swimming pool which we used. We also tried the sauna and steam room. They also have a nice gym. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
