“Lovely little break”

We enjoyed an overnight stay with our dog. Everything was spot on. We were warmly welcomed and the food in the restaurant was delicious and priced very reasonably. The soft focaccia bread with the delicious soup and the seasonal parfait were particular highlights.

We were using a voucher for a wine tasting with lunch tour at the Winery and didn’t fancy the journey round the motorways home afterwards so decided to book the onsite hotel for an overnight stay. Was allocated one of the rooms in the main building which was double aspect and had great views over the conservatory roof of the restaurant out to the vineyards beyond. The room was spacious with a large king-sized bed and a small but functional bathroom. There was a bit of noise bleed through from the music being played in the restaurant below but not enough to disturb us. We didn’t utilise the hotel restaurant in the evening, but the food and service at breakfast the following day were very good. The hotel didn’t appear to be too busy for our mid-week visit, but this clearly functions as a wedding venue, as the large permanent marquee at the back of the building signifies, so I am guessing that weekend availability is dependent on whether it is being used for this function.

“Great Stay for an Anniversary”

We had a lovely stay in a good sized room, lovely meals and wine of course! An ideal stay for us with beautiful walks and a wine tasting tour. The hotel restaurant staff were excellent particularly the lovely blond bubbly young woman who served us (Charlotte?) and the Maitre D' and others.

It was OK. I arrived in the dark, pouring rain too so I had a little difficulty finding my way round to the rear right hand side of the main building where the hotel is. It was OK. I arrived in the dark, pouring rain too so I had a little difficulty finding my way round to the rear right hand side of the main building where the hotel is. A few more signs, with lights, would be helpful. Once you find the hotel you have to go past it, then through what looks like a field entrance, to the car park. I really did wonder where I was going to end up in the dark! The car park is muddy and there was a huge puddle at the top of the pedestrian steps down to the hotel - please, put a few slabs down at the top of the steps! Although I arrived at the time I said in the pre-check in info provision, there was no one on reception. The miniature glass of complimentary wine was a nice touch, but carrying it up the stairs with luggage etc was a little tricky. The room was super warm, clean and tidy, spacious, comfy bed. Breakfast was tasty. My only niggles with the room was that the walls are paper thin, so I could enjoy next door's choice of TV programme (and snoring). Also the basin plug hole leaked - it would not hold water, but the bath plug was stuck down (wouldn't pop up) but luckily it also leaked so eventually my shower water drained away but a bath wasn't possible (reported to reception). Overall, I would stay there again, its convenient for my needs and I got a great rate by booking direct. Once daylight arrived, I could enjoy the stunning location and a walk.
