“Beautiful stay”

We had a really lovely stay here at the weekend. The hotel was beautiful, very comfortable, and had such a warm, welcoming feel. The staff were friendly and attentive, and everything made for a really relaxing break. We had a fantastic time, definitely would recommend!

“A gorgeous break”

Superb break, hotel clean, fabulous swim every morning and the added bonus of excellent customer service from the Spanish brothers in the restaurant at breakfast and evening meal- very attentive and super quick.

Great hotel in the heart of grasmere free on site parking (although a limited number of spaces) . We managed to get parked and used the regular bus service to get about. The hotel was very comftable and spacious and we were very well looked after by Manuel,Daniel and the rest of the team.

We came here for a 3 night stay after my husband stayed last year with his parents. We are regulars to Grasmere itself but was my own first time staying here. Overall the stay fell short of expectations but I think some tweaks and improvements could resolve this. The room was spacious and comfortable. It had a king size bed and separate living area. The bed was comfortable and the pillows soft. The ensuite was a bit small in comparison to the size of the room. Our room was on the 1st floor and the room was very warm, I believe it was above the swimming pool and kitchens so just something to be aware of. Perhaps providing a fan in the room would help resolve this. The sound proofing wasnt very good, however the staff dealt with a noise complaint we had very well and very professionally. Parking at the property is limited, however we were able to get parked at the sister hotel down the road which was a great benefit. Breakfast was very disappointing unfortunately. The first morning we both had a full cooked breakfast. It came with items missing which we flagged with the staff and they immediately went to get the missing items. The food seemed like it had been mass cooked earlier in the morning and had been left on a warm plate, it didn't seem like it had been cooked fresh and was lukewarm. The next morning we both opted for the poached eggs on toast. Unfortunately they eggs were very undercooked, the whites were very sloppy so we didnt end up finishing. I flagged to one of the waitresses and she was very apologetic and said she would pass feedback onto the kitchen. I think some training with the kitchen staff is needed to resolve this, food should not be served lukewarm and food should be checked to see if it is cooked properly before sending out. This would help increase the quality of the breakfast, especially when guests are paying a lot of money to stay. Every member of staff we came across were lovely and really helpful but I'm not sure I would stay again.
