Convenient and affordable stay. Left impressed ! I stayed here with my family - (young baby) for two nights whilst visiting the area. Firstly the staff are so kind and friendly. Especially the two woman who run the front desk. A cheerful hello everytime we walked past. The room was spacious, had everything we needed (tea & coffee facilities, hot shower, TV) and a river view! Super walkable to all main places in Kendal - and right by a river side walk path. We had a drink in the bar area - lucky enough to have dry weather so we sat on the outdoor patio (with the most amazing river view!). The lovely staff even turned the outdoor heating on for us as it was a bit chilly. Having the gym and pool included was a brilliant surprise - remember and bring flip flops. Free parking in an underground carpark- perfect for the mountain of bags we had as a family. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area for an affordable pleasant stay.

“Nice place...shame about the dinners.”

Perfect location for town and accessing the Lake District. Parking satisfactory and a nice welcome. Our room overlooked the river and was well-equipped and comfortable. Though the furnishing was a little worn, the room was clean and tidy. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good.… more

Perfect location for town and accessing the Lake District. Parking satisfactory and a nice welcome. Our room overlooked the river and was well-equipped and comfortable. Though the furnishing was a little worn, the room was clean and tidy. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good. The restaurant serving the evening meal had a pleasing bistro atmosphere and the staff were excellent. The overpriced food was extremely disappointing. First night, the tiny dish of lasagna was poor and the second night's beef-burger had bone and gristle and was served on a dry bun with one lettuce leaf a thin slice of tomato; it was unpleasant. Wine and cocktails were very good. This was a real shame.

“It was ok”

Stayed here for two nights recently. It’s a nice enough hotel with friendly and helpful staff, but I was a little dismayed to see a scrunched up used towel outside my bedroom door and the bin in the toilet was full upon check in. Housekeeping needs to be better. Great location though, about 5 mins … more

It’s a nice enough hotel with friendly and helpful staff, but I was a little dismayed to see a scrunched up used towel outside my bedroom door and the bin in the toilet was full upon check in. Housekeeping needs to be better. Great location though, about 5 mins walk into town.

“Over priced”

We have stayed in this 3* hotel a few times. Sadly it’s now in need of some TLC. Money has been spent on the bar area, which looks great. We have stayed in this 3* hotel a few times. Sadly it’s now in need of some TLC. Money has been spent on the bar area, which looks great. Food is really good, drinks a bit expensive, but isn’t that happening in most hotels now. The down side is the rooms. They are very bland, with very noticeable repairs needed. Old mattress and damage to walls. If I had paid for this I would not mind. But I spent two nights, 19 and 20 June. Room only on what they called a saver rate. None refundable at a cost of £290. Which is silly money. Sadly as we couldn’t cancel as we had an event. Would we stay here again probably not.
