Stayed on Friday 17th April for one night at Hampton by Hilton Liverpool City Centre. I was checked in by Poppy, who acknowledged my Diamond status (not something I particularly enjoy hearing about, but I understand it’s part of the process) and took the time to clearly explain everything about the hotel, which was especially helpful as it was my first visit to this location. The check-in process itself was smooth, efficient, and friendly, setting a strong first impression. The overall feel of the hotel is slightly more traditional compared to some of the newer Hampton by Hilton properties. While the rooms are on the older side stylistically, they are still well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. In a way, the slightly dated feel adds a bit of character rather than taking away from the experience. The layout was practical, with everything you’d expect readily available, and housekeeping standards were clearly high. One small point worth mentioning was the heating. Initially, it didn’t seem to be working, which was a slight concern. However, once it did kick in, it worked extremely well—almost too well, as the room quickly became very warm, bordering on sauna-like. That said, I’d much rather have a system that works effectively than one that struggles, which is something I’ve experienced at other hotels. Noise levels were generally well controlled, and despite being a city centre location, the room felt relatively quiet, allowing for a comfortable night’s sleep. The bed itself was comfortable, and the blackout curtains did their job properly, which always makes a difference. Breakfast was included and was perfectly acceptable for a Hampton property. There was a reasonable selection of hot and cold items, though I will admit my expectations are slightly skewed from regularly staying at full-service Hilton hotels where the offering is more extensive. That said, for what this brand promises, it delivered well enough, and everything was fresh and regularly replenished. The location of the hotel is another strong point, being conveniently placed for access to the city centre, waterfront, and transport links, making it a practical choice whether visiting for business or leisure. If I had to offer any constructive feedback, it would be quite minor—perhaps refreshing or replacing some of the carpets in the rooms and corridors would help bring the overall feel more in line with newer properties. However, this really is me looking for faults where there are very few to find. Overall, a very solid stay. Friendly and professional staff, a comfortable room, and a reliable experience that meets expectations. I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Back again on 5th of may.
