Stayed here for a couple of nights for a short break.we had a ground floor studio next door at 148 and it was a little treasure. It had everything you needed and fery convenient for both the tube and buses. OK little things niddled like the plugs hiding behind the bedside cabinets but hey we just moved the cabinets. We would book it again.

“Accommodation was what we needed of it.”

We have stayed here a few times but now under new management. The location is still good and quiet. On arrival noticed some of the tiles on the door step are missing or loose. Rang the door bell and the door was opened by one of the cleaning staff with the sound of a voice saying up here. The reception has moved to the first floor. We were greeted by a friendly young man who copied my photographic ID and pre authorised my debit card with £1 as part of the £100 damages bond which is refunded in 14 days if not needed. We were given a folded over and stapled piece of paper which contained our key card for the doors. On the paper was our room number 111, the wi-fi information and emergency contact info. Our flat was 2 floors up and as previously stated in earlier reviews the stair case is narrow so can be difficult with large bags. First impression of our room was bright, clean and well presented. Everything we needed seemed to be there including tea, coffee and milk. We unpacked and put stuff away and had a coffee. Seating is provided in the form of a padded plastic chair, a stool under the bench or the bed. This was when we noticed that the veneer of the work bench next to the kitchen sink was broken and lifting. A previous repair was evident from the white silicon sealant. The bathroom is narrow and about the length of 3 shower cubicles. You need to plan using the loo if you are not of slim/small build. The shower does its job but if as much water came out the shower head as what runs down the hose it would be a lot better. Over our week long stay we noticed the high stool under the bench only has 2 out of the 4 screws holding the top on. On the Wednesday the bathroom sink started to leak from underneath every time you used it so I reported to reception as we went out. The young lad on it said he would inform maintenance. The rest of the week we ended up using the provided hand towel to mop the puddles every time we used the sink. We were there during a heatwave and whilst the room does have an AC it did not seem to cool the room down much. One bonus is the bed is comfy. The outside area has changed little bit. You do still numerous places to eat. You have a small Tesco's and CO-OP near by but the nearest cash line we could find is in Baker Street tube station. Over all 146 is clean and tidy but with some minor repairs and a lick of paint could be even better.
