I had my stay at Marlin Apartments in June of 2026. The stay was good overall, the services were provided as advertised. However, Upon check-in I was asked to pay GBP 100 extra as Caution money / Safety deposit, which has not been refunded till date. I have also sent an email regarding this but the issue still persists. I hope the management takes notice and provides assistance.

This was our first visit to London and traveling as a family of five. Finding accommodations for this size was a more challenging. For example, we spent a few days in Paris before arriving in London and had to book two separate rooms. The size of the “apartment” was great and we had a two room apartment that included a large living room and kitchen. The accommodations were very clean and, as stated above, very spacious. It included a washer/dryer that was very helpful. As an all-in-one unit, it worked okay but you have to run very small loads and two dry cycles to completely dry the clothes. The main issue I had was nowhere on the website or description of the accommodations did it state that air conditioning wasn’t available. During our visit in late June 2026, there was a record heat wave and the rooms were unbearable at times. We were told at check-in that A/C wasn’t available but two fans were in the room. In order to cool down, we sat in the air conditioned lobby for a bit before going up to the rooms. My other criticism is that I felt nickel and dimed when checking into the rooms. I requested two twin beds in one of the rooms since we had a family of five. A couple of days before checking in, I received a call confirming the request but stating it would be another £30 for that. I agreed and not a huge deal. When checking in, we asked for a room on a lower floor and was told there was a room available but it included a “furnished patio deck” so it would be an additional £80 during our visit. Okay, fine. The rooms came with 8 sets of towels but since we were staying for 7 days asked if we could get extra towels. Sure, but it would be an extra £XX for that. No housekeeping service during our stay but we could ask for that for another £XX. Going back to the lack of A/C, could we get an extra fan. Yes, but it’s ordinarily an extra £XX but we’ll give you an extra one at no charge since it’s so hot out. After we checked in and walking away, the receptionist (who was very nice) called us back and said she noticed the request for the two twin beds and the room she put us in with the furnished patio didn’t have that so she can put us back in the original room we had, which also had a patio deck. Okay, great. I said the person who called and set that up for me said it was £30 extra for that room and since we’re going back to that original room I shouldn’t be charged the extra £80. She said the person who called should have charged us for the patio but she agreed to refund £50. As a side note, the patio was nice but it wasn’t furnished but it was good to have during the evening to help cool down. It also had a slight view of the London Eye. Overall, it was a nice facility and a pretty central location. The lack of A/C was my only issue and given the heat wave it was a problem. The website should have made that clearly known and I would have selected different accommodations if I had known. Otherwise, very nice accommodations and location. The Borough Market, a short 10 minute walk, was great.
