Perfectly good budget hotel with more positives than negatives. It's true to say the bedrooms are lilliputian in size, however, everything you need is in there! Good things: * Amazing central location, 8 minute walk from Euston & 2 minutes from Kings Cross/St Pancras. * Friendly, helpful 24 hour reception. * Firm bed, 1 firm & 1 squashy pillow, good nights sleep! * Got a great street view of the gothic clock tower of St Pancras (see pic) * Everything was super clean, my room was serviced everyday. * Superb, newly installed (by the look of it!) shower. Bad things: * Small room, but this was only a base, and I've stayed in smaller ones! * No decaff coffee sachets. No brekkie available but, loads of eating places nearby. * Tiny sink, impossible to wash or splash your face...had to buy a face cloth... But that's it, would stay here again at these prices.

“A very comfortable budget hotel”

The Wardonia is a very good 2-Star hotel. Certainly it has no air-conditioning (but our room did have a good fan if we'd needed it), no food or communal spaces and the rooms are small. The Wardonia is a very good 2-Star hotel. Certainly it has no air-conditioning (but our room did have a good fan if we'd needed it), no food or communal spaces and the rooms are small. But it is very comfortable and clean. It is also in a superb location, certainly for our needs, close to Kings Cross etc, the British Library and the bus and tube network. The staffing is limited to reception but we found them very pleasant and helpful. And there is free luggage storage which we find very useful on the last day before getting an evening train home.

It's quite hard to write a review about the Wardonia because there are so many good reasons to stay here! We picked this out because we were arriving into London via Euston station, and were going to be leaving a few days later from King's Cross/St Pancras, so wanted a hotel kind of in the middle of these two places. Wardonia happened to be a cheap hotel close to both stations, as well as within good walking distance from the British Museum, supermarkets (we went to Tesco's) and a laundrette (Golden Laundrette). The first thing to note about this place is the room size. I don't know if all are the same, but there was very limited space in our room, with the double bed up against the window and about 1 metre from the door, and the bathroom was tiny, with a shower, handbasin and toilet very close to one another. In saying that, we were only in the room for sleep and we only had two small backpacks with us so the room size was a little comical but not inconvenient for us, however I'm not sure how someone with lots of luggage, or large suitcases, would go. In the room was everything we needed - kettle/coffee/tea, shower with body wash/shampoo, and handwash/soap provided too. When we arrived, the TV wasn't able to be tuned in and there were a couple of lightbulbs that needed replacing, but these issues were both rectified very quickly by a staff member. I definitely would stay at this hotel again because of the price and the fact that King's Cross station is right at the end of the street, but it's back off the main road far enough that we didn't really hear any traffic at all. It isn't a luxury stay, and might not fit someone who has lots of luggage or can't use steps, but for a hotel in London, it worked for us!
