I typically stay on the other side in the Hyatt House due to having longer stays, but this time I had a flight back to Manchester late and just needed a quick room for the night. I happened to book this night with a World of Hyatt Cat. 1-4 free night award. As is always the case at the Hyatt Hotels Manchester, I was welcomed wonderfully. It was shift change as I arrived and even that late two gentlemen were working the front desk and several others were there actively assisting anyone needing anything—and always with a smile. I was quickly checked l in so I could rest after a day of travel. I was a lucky duck who was upgraded to the ONLY suite (I learned a while back that the reason the hotel does not accept Suite Upgrade Awards is simply because they only have a single suite, I left over from being a hotel conversion from IHG. Nevertheless the Hyatt Hotels Manchester hospitality continues to shine on both sides. As a Globalist I was proactively given the late check out I needed—and plenty of water and even snacks in my suite. So few hotels these days are so proactive with elite benefits but the Hyatt Regency is one that radiates hospitality. I cannot begin to rave enough about the staff. The hotel has been full, and I could tell as I checked in and out how busy they are and have been. But each and every single member of staff genuinely treat each person like the only guest. All this said, I always peek at recent hotel reviews, even if it’s a place I’ve been, and I have to say I was stunned at a couple of the reviews below mine. However, it’s likely not a coincidence that they appeared at almost the same time. These reviews, which just don’t even sound like the same hotel and staff, are not the reality (whether or not a party had a glitch) of everyday life at Hyatt Hotels Manchester. I will say that while it’s true all European and UK hotels have very strict occupancy requirements, I believe based on capacity and fire codes, the hotel staff has a responsibility to both do its job as a hospitality host and also to account for every human in a room. Fire Alarms are tested weekly at every European hotel where I’ve stayed (I spent several months a year in the UK and mainland Europe). I live in the USA and there hotels are not as strict, for better or worse, but hotels in Europe or hosting international visitors do have to check passports or ID of every guest in Europe. I can’t even board a British Airways domestic flight without showing my passport—as I had done earlier this same evening. What I know personally is that there is nowhere I want to be when coming in positively exhausted, having had nothing to eat or drink since I elected to sleep on my flights. Besides welcoming me and having everything ready in my beautiful suite, they even brought me ice and Diet Coke. I could not ask for better. Period. From the guest services team and management to housekeeping staff and every employee at this hotel, I sometimes worry World of Hyatt will change categories or devalue the incredible points redemptions or upgrades (accepted at the Hyatt House since there are more suites). So please don’t tell Hyatt! But tell everyone else. You won’t do better than this amazing hotel and the beautiful people who keep it going day and night.

“Fantastic hotel, even better staff”

This hotel was amazing. Stayed there for a month for a work event and they staff were incredible, the rooms were great and the food was fantastic. “Excellent hotel - some minor drawbacks.”

Great hotel. Good location for the Universities. Bed was way too soft (not sure why) but after a couple of nights I adjusted fine. No spa or pool - could be the other only drawback.
