This is an extremely popular venue for Sunday roasts and I can certainly understand why. The venue offers two and three courses, the starters and desserts were all of an excellent size. The roast dinners were absolutely outstanding! Our group of 16 all had either chicken or beef roasts, all served with gravy and a Yorkshire pudding the vegetables came separately along with extra gravy. There were perfectly cooked roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots, plus cauliflower cheese, green beans and mange tout plus red cabbage. The portions were very generous and everything was well presented, hot and very tasty. Highly recommended, but please book in advance to avoid disappointment.

“Lovely stay and really friendly”

We stopped here for a couple of nights whilst visiting family. The hotel was lovely and the staff very friendly. The grounds are beautiful and I enjoyed walking around. We stopped here for a couple of nights whilst visiting family. The hotel was lovely and the staff very friendly. The grounds are beautiful and I enjoyed walking around. We had breakfast both days and an evening meal on one day. We enjoyed the food and the avocado breakfast was gorgeous. On the second morning a lot of the family joined us and the hotel was wonderful at accommodating us all. Would definitely recommend and will return next time we are home.

We hosted our charity fundraising quiz at Sweeney Hall Hotel and couldn’t have asked for a better venue. The team were welcoming from start to finish and made the whole evening easy to run. They were flexible, helpful, and genuinely supportive of what we were trying to do, which made a big difference on the night. The setting speaks for itself. The hall has real character, and the gardens are a great backdrop, especially if you arrive early or stay a bit later. It adds something extra that you don’t get from a standard venue. The food is always a highlight. I’ve been here a number of times and have never had a bad meal. Consistent quality, good portions, and well presented. You can pay roughly the same for a modern square-room chain hotel, or stay in this lovely, large rambling hotel. Not a square wall or non-squeaky floorboard to be found.
