We love this place! Yes, it's quirky, with dark colours on the walls and lots of curios around, but it's really comfortable, quiet and clean, and very fairly priced. Our room was lovely (only minor complaint - nowhere to hang coats, and not enough space to hang clothes), the bed very comfortable and the bathroom spotless. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of healthy options (oats, sugar-free muesli, fresh fruit, nuts, seeds and yogurt) as well as a cooked breakfast and warm pastries. Lovely breakfast room, with a delightful lack of muzac in the background. Parking at the back (£10 per night's stay). Bus stop just outside the door to take you to town, and all the facilities of Summertown on your doorstep. Very pleasant, courteous, professional staff too. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

“Ok for short stays”

It’s cheap & good location in Summertown with nice cafes nearby. Free parking is useful. Tired rooms, dingy corridors, and slightly awkward service. Nevertheless for this price I’d use again for overnight stays

Stayed for two nights whilst attending a conference. The hotel staff are friendly and professional. The reception area of the hotel looks beautiful and the room itself is pretty. It’s warm, clean and quirky which I appreciated - not a bogstandard plain hotel! Summertown is also lovely- leafy and safe. Now for the negatives: you can hear absolutely everything from the room above. Installing carpets would help this rather than hard floors. It meant I was woken up much earlier than anticipated as I heard the room above me walking around and even sneezing… There are some little features it could benefit from. There’s no plug socket beside the bed meaning you have to charge across the room but also the ‘bedside’ lamp is across the room so no good for reading unfortunately. The teacup offered for hot drinks is absolutely tiny so not great for morning coffee. The selection of drinks also wasn’t great- it’s always nice to add herbal teas and hot chocolate! There’s also no dustbin in the room aside from a tiny one in the bathroom so all rubbish had to go in there. It would also be nice to have a desk and chair. Sadly the bed also wasn’t comfortable, the mattress is lumpy and feels worn out. The noise from above was the biggest problem. Overall I’d say average, I didn’t eek t breakfast as £12 a day felt steep when there’s a Gail’s bakery up the road!
