The accommodation at this resort is amazing, we had a 3 bedroom barn pet friendly. The accommodation was spacious and very modern,the decking area had a sofa, table and chairs and was complimented by a very warm hot tub, it really was lovely. Although I can not fault the accommodation, unfortunately this was let down by the fact that we were unable to relax out on the decking due to it being open and not pet secure at all, the pictures that are on the website show a secured enclosed decking area, by way of glass or fencing, however ours was completely open which meant our fur babies could get out at any point. We did wander around to see if this was a one off thing, but most of the accommodation appears to be open and not secure, something that may not be good for families travelling with children due to a lot of open water and steep drops. The websites that advertise this accommodation fail to mention this is not secure. We did request to move which could not be accommodated during our stay. The complex is very clean and the food at the bar was outstanding. I would recommend this resort but not if travelling with dogs or young children due to the security of the decking area.

Just returned from a family trip to Retallack - booked as we love Away Resorts and often visit Sandy Balls & Mill Rythe. This is a mid resort. I booked a dog friendly barn as bringing our puppy with us, chose a barn which had Perspex around the decking so nice and secure. The day before travelling I had a call to say that our barn wouldn’t be secure for dogs which was such a shame as that was the sole reason we booked this. On arrival, the actual barn was beautiful, spotlessly clean & had plenty of seating & space for 5 of us, it was just a shame we couldn’t relax outside or with the doors open with the puppy on a really nice warm day. Towels are huge and 10/10! We all wished we had brought our own pillows are they were all hard but bed was comfy enough. Our barn was on the hillside so quite far away from the resort hub, we couldn’t work out a short cut and reception told us to stick to the main roads so it was a 20 mins walk to the bar / pool - and pitch black at night. The bar is tiny and there was no entertainment facility like the other resorts which was a bit of a letdown as that’s something my children especially enjoy at the other resorts. It felt lacking in atmosphere and community that the other parks have. We ate at the restaurant the first night and that was the biggest letdown of the stay. I’ll post a photo - £9 for chicken bites and it was literally 3 chicken nuggets. I asked if that was correct and the waitress just said yes that’s right 😳 I was mortified to have been charged that never mind to serve it, and then had to order my son another meal as they were just awful! The bang bang noodles were just dry sweet chilli noodles, not fresh - food quality was shocking, especially for the price! We didn’t go back! My daughter enjoyed the surfing simulator although they all came away blue as it was soooo cold! Fun though for £20. Overall, lovely base to go exploring Cornwall, but don’t expect much from the actual resort.
