Would not begrudge them calling themselves a B&B over a hotel. Felt really homely and welcoming from the online messaing to Wendy on the reception. The room is tiny, like really tiny but cleverly laid out and functional. For a couple of nights it was perfect. Quiet, comfy and for a business trip I was grateful for the lounge area to work in the poor weather too. Breakfast is as good as google says it is, nothing was too much. Made how you like it fresh!!! Parking secure, access to town and local restuarants was within 10 minute walk and will only be booking here when I visit for work heroneout. Only recommendation to guests would be make sure you have films and shows on your phone/tablet as the TV is the only let down.

Great location. Took us 25 minutes walking from Ryde Pier head. Last 100m slight incline but manageable. Staff are all very friendly. Hotel spotlessly clean. Great location. Took us 25 minutes walking from Ryde Pier head. Last 100m slight incline but manageable. Staff are all very friendly. Hotel spotlessly clean. Our room booked through booking.com was in the attic so access not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Room small with compact bathroom but comfortable and suitable for our needs. Fan provided as stayed during heat wave. Excellent breakfast choices. Will stay here again but would book direct. Thank You Dorset House for a lovely break.

“Good old fashioned B&B”

We spent 4 nights here over the May Bank Holiday for a family wedding. Dave is a larger than life character and does make very tasty marmalade, which we purchased. The rooms are OK, the shower works and the TV works. The bar/ lounge area is nice. Breakfast is an adequate olde English with a choice of cereal and toast. Don’t ask for avocado or oat milk, not that sort of B&B! The hotel cat fits in just right. Don’t expect the Ritz. Expect an old fashioned B&B with fresh towels and free parking and only a short walk to the beach front. We had a front room and it was noisy at night. There seem to be 100s of pubs around, plus we came on a Ticket to Ryde event weekend so people walk home and are chatting loudly at 2/3 in the morning. Not the hotels fault and Dave and his team are all very friendly. Just don’t ask for oat milk!!

This B and B is about 12-15 minutes' walk uphill from Ryde Esplanade railway station on the Island Line. Dave welcomed me. My ground floor room was small and had a single bed, two small two drawer cabinets, a sink in the room, a few coathooks on a wall with shampoo and tea and coffee supplied. The room lacked a fridge. The ensuite shower worked well as did the WiFi. Breakfast downstairs was fine. Tge Co-op supermsrket was a 12 minute walk as was the Wetherspoons hotel S Fowler and Co. There is a large guest TV room opposite reception.
