We stayed in The Stables cottage for 10 days during a very wet February whilst our bathroom was being done. In spite of the miserable weather we felt very cosy and warm every time we came in. We could imagine how lovely it would be in the summer with the French windows open, eating at the outside table and looking across the fields with a glass of something to hand.... The cottage is very clean with quality equipment and all mod cons. The owner is also very friendly and helpful. It was an extremely comfortable retreat from the chaos that was going on in our own home. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

“Excellent”

We have spent this summer travelling around the UK and stayed in many B&B'. This was the best. Huge bedroom, an outside seating area, downstairs sitting room and a microwave and fridge in our room. Nothing was too much trouble - overall more like staying in a country house hotel. Can't recomme… more

We have spent this summer travelling around the UK and stayed in many B&B'. This was the best. Huge bedroom, an outside seating area, downstairs sitting room and a microwave and fridge in our room. Nothing was too much trouble - overall more like staying in a country house hotel. Can't recommend it enough.

We stayed the first weekend of August as close friends were getting married just up the road. It was a lovely place to stay and Victoria (owner) was very helpful in our attempt to arrange a lift with a local taxi albeit unsuccessful! Breakfast was too much too eat! There were a range of things including pastries, fresh fruit platter, cheese, ham, cereal, yogurt plus juice and hot drinks. Overall it was lovely and would stay there again if returning to the area.

We spent the summer here from June 2013 through to end of September 2013 staying in The Stables 1 bedroom Thatched Cottage. Excellent location as this was not to far from Christchurch were our daughter lives, as we live in Tenerife, everything included in the price so well worth it, even had internet. The cottage is good size, great bathroom with large corner power shower with built in washing machine & separate drier and plenty of cupboard space. The lounge good size wicker furniture, which had seen it's day and not comfortable for long stay (this we know is being replaced in October 2013) Victoria the owner did bring us a new leather swivel reclining chair with stool. TV with built in DVD in both lounge & bedroom with free view, not big enough for us so we purchased a 32", which we left with our daughter to sell on ebay. Kitchen is adequate but not enough work space (bathroom had more work space) but did have dishwasher, microwave, oven & hob and large fridge/freezer. The kitchen really was a problem when we had our daughter & son in law came round not enough space to serve. I must say Victoria was fantastic and she did bring us a service stand which did help. The bedroom up stairs is in the roof space so if you are tall this could be a problem as the ceiling curves, so not much head room but quite large. Nice patio area outside through the French doors overlooking the field, large outside table seating for 6. Over all excellent location with fields all around, pheasants tapping on the French doors to be fed, squirrels, deer, Wagtails & Robins so can't fault the setting. Poor reception for some mobile operators vodafone best, but there is a land line. Parking for two cars and nothing is to much trouble for Victoria. Did see the other cottages and B&B these are all excellent would consider staying in one of the others, bigger kitchen lol. Would stay there again especially now Victoria has put in a new suite in the lounge.
