Part of the hotel is an old manor house built inthe mid 1600's with the new part probably Victorian. It stands on the edge of the town. It's very welcoming as are the staff, nothing is to much. Absolutely first rate from start to finish. A lovely imposing hotel. We were greeted warmly and had a beautiful room. The evening meal was delicious. The breakfast spot on with plenty of choice. The place has character in an abundance.

Please ignore the poor reviews. Our room room1 was perfectly clean with a very comfortable bed and a quirky bath in front of the bay window in the bedroom.
